an interesting idea with plenty of potential. pours out a light amber with a fluffy head, and an ever-so-slightly tart aroma of fresh strawberries and lilac flowers, and a doughy cakey characteristic behind there as well. Some acidity, like strawberries that aren’t quite fully ripe - perhaps it’s a lack of freshness in the beer as well. i don’t pick up any lactose/milk sugar other than in the strangely full body. a fairly accurate representation of strawberry shortcake, but unfortunately it doesn’t translate all that well to beer form. yet another gimmicky brew from short’s that falls, well, short of expectations.

Thanks Scott for yet another Short’s beer! Poured into my Kuhnhenn snifter, compliments of Scott as well! A- The beer pours a murky amber/orange color. VERY carbonated, possibly too much carbonation. S- Slightly funky and tart with that underlying scent of Short’s typical beer. T- Too mcuh carbonation. Once that subsides I get a tart strawberry flavor that is quite nice. M- Less carbonation would have been better. O- I have had a couple of these and find them to be fairly refreshing.

(12oz bottle from rayl101). Pours a clear golden color with some red hues and massive off-white head. Active carbonation. Aroma is strawberry, some lactose and crackers. Taste is fresh strawberry, whip cream (?), and what seems to be sponge cake. Pretty cool!. Medium bodied with a sweetish finish. Neat beer.

(12oz bottle thanks to Mora2000) cloudy orange with frothy tan head. Nose of strawberry, a bit of tomato, unique and syrupy smelling. Taste is very sweet, strawberry puree, mildly tart, delicious linger and finish. Actually tastes like strawberries, something I feel very few beers do well.

Pours golden orange with a faint pink hue a puffy tan head. Bit of a sour milk and yeast aroma. Fairly creamy and a strawberry tartness with an odd finish. Good carbonation and fluffy mouthfeel. Nice try Short’s, but I don’t really think this works as a beer.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Very hazy and light brown. A nice frothy off white head. Light strawberry in the nise. Despitevthebopinions of my partnets, I find this a lot like a strawberry short cake. It is only moderately sweet. Not bad at all.

Pinkish amber pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is sugary, overripe strawberry, biscuity malt, sweet milky tanginess. Flavor is interesting, very effervescent with a sweet tangy fruit, odd tangy milk flavors threaten to mess this one up, but in the end it melds into a dry bready finish with a twinge of sweet strawberries, Odd, but interesting.

Thanks to GatorGuy92 for the share. Pours a hazy yellow with pink-ish highlights and a fizzy white head. Nose is peanuts. Seriously. This beer smelled like peanuts. One of my big wants from Shorts. I don’t know if they bottled Uber Goober before it, but the beer smelled and tasted of peanuts. No strawberry, no cake, no sugar, no lactose, all peanuts. Medium-bodied with peanuts in the finish.

12 ounce bottle pours an orange/amber color. Aromas of bread, malt and strawberries. Tastes follow the aroma, it also felt liike the little seeds were there while I drank it. Overall a refreshing beer.

Bottle. Amber/orange body. Fizzy, off-white head. Nose of toasted malt, biscuit, strawberry, The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly tart. Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Taste of strawberry shortcake — tart strawberries, sweet cream, shortcake. Kind of. Pour some beer on your strawberry shortcake and you complete the picture. Interesting and just OK. Couldn’t drink a lot of this. The sweet/tart berries clashed with the beer malts for me.
