COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strawberry Short’s Cake is a golden ale. The addition of strawberries and milk sugar transform this beer into a rose colored nectar that has hints of cream and is pleasingly sweet. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the great amounts of Victory malt used in the brewing process.

Tap. Sort of a golden-amber. Bit of head. Smells vaguely of strawberries. Solid mouthfeel. Tastes of real strawberries, bit of breadiness. Definitely tastes like its name, and without being too sweet!

Draft. Stopped in the brewery and had a little sampler of several beers. Reddish/tan color with an ever so slight pinkish head. STRONG strawberry aroma that basically overwhelms all other notes. Very sweet strawberry taste. Medium mouthfeel. A fun beer to drink but not sure if I could really ever drink a 6 pack of this. The sampler size I had was plenty.

Sampled on tap at the MiBGF (Ypsilanti, MI). Holy crap. Aroma is straight strawberry short cake. Really, could fool me in a blind test. Flavor, not really as much but good. Surprisingly still tastes like it is beer-in a good way.

thanks ben! Strawberry and crust on the nose, just as advertised. dark gold, small white head. juicy fresh fruit, softens quickly and mellows to a toasty balanced finish, great experience.

Thanks to RBlaszak for sharing this bottle. I have heard a lot about this beer so I am glad I got to try it. The beer pours a reddish-brown color with a large white head. The aroma is heavy on the strawberries with some caramel and bready malt. Very interesting. The flavor is more complex but just as good if not better. In addition to the strawberries, I get some caramel, graham crackers, vanilla and some light tartness. The fruit in the beer is very juicy and very enjoyable. I am not sure if the tartness is from an early infection or if it is intended, but it adds to the beer’s flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(It should be noted that I had two of these beers, presumably from the same six pack. The other beer was drank a few days after the one I rated and it was badly infected and undrinkable).

12 oz bottle. This is tough. It actually is a pretty good refreshing ale but it is hardly as sweet as any dessert. Dark peach pour with nice thick head and fabulous retention. Nose is tart strawberry and a bit of yeast. Taste is even fainter strawberry but a nice tart finish. A great summer ale if you can appreciate it for that.

On tap at 2013 GTMW, pours a hazy light red with an off white head, the aroma was pretty cool, nice amount of strawberries with a creamy touch to it at the same time, the flavor has a nice sweet front end with a good kick of fresh strawberries in the finish, very creamy finish, really interesting and different.

Pours a red color with a good head and some lace. The aroma is exactly as the name implies. The flavor is full of strawberry tartness with a good malty backbone but overall it’s pretty dominated by strawberry tartness. Somehow this is not cloying, which is awesome.

Bottle. Pours a light redish color with a big white head. Bottle gushed. Nose is strawberry, biscuit, light honey sweetness. Palate is firm with a nice carbonation touch. Flavor is creamy strawberries with honey biscuits and a clean finish.

Nose of sweet strawberry and creamy sweetness. Pours hazy reddish no head but light foamy ring. Nice sweet strawberry, light creamy sweetness, a touch of tangy in finish. Light and fruity and pleasant. Solid.
