Pub Brew. Stroker Ace is a bright, carrot-orange colored ale with fruity hop aromas of citrus zest. This brew is light bodied with low malt sweetness, which allows for an array of noticeable lemony flavors that range from citrus fruit to lemongrass. A proper IPA bitterness resonates in the back of the throat providing a slight lingering bite, and an increasing dryness.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber color with a small head that fades to a thin ring. Aroma is lemongrass, grapefruit, lemon, and some other herbs. Taste is very herbal but I really like it for some reason. Lemongrass, dill, lemon zest, and light grapefruit. Some light black pepper in the finish too. Body is surprisingly thick for a session IPA. I couldn’t drink this all day but it was very enjoyable as a single.

Pours nearly clear, light golden, slight thin head, good amount of thin lacing. Aroma dank tropical hops, bit of doughy malt. Taste bitter, un-ripe tropical fruit, grapefruit rinds, slight pine, very slight fresh dough malt flavor mid mouth, grassy and bitter on the finish. Mouthfeel light body, medium carbonation, slight bitter hop astringency, dry finish. Overall tasty, crisp, very drinkable, I would describe this ad an American bitter.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/18/2014. Pours fairly hazy gold color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, orange peel, citrus rind, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthinss. Very nice aromas with big juicy citrus/tropical hop and light-moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, orange peel/rind, floral, grass, pine, light caramel, biscuit and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity and robustness of juicy citrus/tropical hops with light-moderate pale malt sweetness; with a solid malt/bitterness balance and a moderate amount of cloying bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish as expected of 4%. Overall this was a really good session IPA. Nice complexity and robustness of juicy citrus/tropical hops and a fair amount of pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Big pine and citrus hop aroma to start out. Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a thin white head. Slight onion note from the hops, very light bodied. Very short bitter finish. Easy drinking, but not the first I’ll reach for in the future.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate citrus/grapefruit with some light lemon peel. It pours a dull golden-orange with a touch of haze and a one finger white head. There is some dotted lacing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a very quick dose of light fruit that is quickly dominated by moderate-heavy grapefruit with a hint of floral notes and lemon peel. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation with a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall, this is probably one of the more bitter Session IPAs I’ve had.

On tap at the brewpub. Yellow-gold pour with a thin white head. Light citrusy hop flavor and a malt sweetness. Nice IPA bite. Good stuff.
