3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap.Pours light orange in color with a white head that is gone immediately with almost no lacing. Grapefruit is the dominant character in this beer that I find less intense than many other DIPA’s. Good beer.

On tap. Good, mild for a DIPA, but strong and good flavor. A nice happy medium, would definitely have again.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours golden orange, almost no head. Quite hoppy, hints of lemon, a little on the bitter side. I would like it to be a little more balanced, but still an excellant beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong lemon zest and floral hop. Thin mouthfeel with a strong citrus hop and resin. Light bitterness on the finish hiding alcohol well. A verey good IIPA from Shorts.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle gifted by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!
A: The Liberator appears slightly hazy and light orange in color. The head is an off-white hue and measures in at about a half inch thick. Although it fades to a thin, wispy layer within a couple of minutes, it does generate numerous thick ringlets of lacing around the perimeter of the entire pint glass.
S: Aromas include tangy citrus fruits, hops, and malt, respectively.
T: My first reaction is that I am drinking a delicious and complex beer. My second sip confirms my initial supposition. The Liberator is a terrific double IPA. This beer doesn’t have hints of grapefruit, it tastes as if I just squeezed fresh grapefruit juice into my beer. The lemon zest is wonderful, complementing a full bouquet of tart citrus. The malt component is just prominent enough to support the myriad of fruit and hop flavors that abound in this delectable brew.
M: Medium bodied, with a lasting tart and tangy aftertaste.
D: What a great beer. Short’s hit their mark with this one. I definitely recommend it.

Cloudy amber beer. Fluffy off white head. Semi crisp and semi dry palate, turning softer. Deep rich hops with nicely balanced creamy malt. Zingy minerals before a bitter finish with the orange and lemon peel coming through. Very drinkable DIPA - could sink a few of these.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Cloudy orange color with no head. Big citrus and floral aroma. Orange and lemon for sure but maybe grapefruit too. Also some sweet malt comes through. Taste is a citrus explosion at first that turns bitter and ends slightly dry. Really makes you want to keep drinking more. Really like this double IPA. Re-rate 12/16/12. Need to bump this beer up higher. I absolutely love this beer and wish it was available year round. I have nothing to add to my review really only that I think this beer seems to get better each time its released.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber pour, nearly 2 fingers of head. Good lacing throughout. Floral hop aroma - Grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine. Taste is a bit of a letdown after smelling this - Pine resin, Lemon zest and caramel malt. Medium body, good carbonation for the style. I like it but Shorts could have really had something special here.

Thanks to Johnsense for this one! Pours a slightly hazy ruby orange colour with a big fluffy head. Smells outstanding. Tons of orange lemon and grapefruit. Harshly bitter, not really great balance, but still really good. There is some bready malt going on, but i wish there was more citrus in the taste. Still, I wouldnt say no to this beer.
