UPDATED: DEC 16, 2012 Cloudy orange color with no head. Big citrus and floral aroma. Orange and lemon for sure but maybe grapefruit too. Also some sweet malt comes through. Taste is a citrus explosion at first that turns bitter and ends slightly dry. Really makes you want to keep drinking more. Really like this double IPA. Re-rate 12/16/12. Need to bump this beer up higher. I absolutely love this beer and wish it was available year round. I have nothing to add to my review really only that I think this beer seems to get better each time its released.

Pours a slightly opaque amber color with a very small head that’s settles to a film. Smell is caramel malts, bit of alcohol and some grapefruit and citrus notes. Taste follows as this is malt forward... Good bitterness and slightly sticky aftertaste

Draft. Large beige head that leaves nice lacing atop hazy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, light herbal. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit/herbal, some lemon peel. Medium body, low carbonation, some resin.

Amber in color with white head. Aroma is very good. Very strong bitter aftertaste. Not a very sweet IPA...not as citrusy as I was hoping for since it said on the front "made with lemon and orange zest". ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. Bottle to DFH pint glass, pours a very amber almost red with a thumbs worth of barely off-white head. Nose is zesty citrus mixed with piney resin-ey notes. As to be expected the taste follows suit... Very citrusy, very very bitter, much more bitter than I remember this being (to much orange and lemon zest in this batch?) I love the bitter, but this is borderline that bad chalky feeling in your mouth. Not so bad that I don’t like it, just abrasive in that way that sets it apart from other DIPA’s out there. Maybe I am a freak and I like abrasive sometimes. Mouthfeel is mediumish and carbonation ways on the heavy side. That super dry chalk feeling comes at the very end of the palate and last for a while. Overall I remember being much more pleased with this last year, that being said this beer isn’t bad it’s just needs a tweak I feel, joe less lemon zest?

Abrasively bitter and oddly sweet all at the same time. Not very good at all. As with most Shorts beers its just oddly sweet and not clean tasting.

Nice DIPA. The lemon and citrus are present in the aroma and the initial taste. The beer finishes quite bitter though. If the aftertaste could be improved this would be one of my favorites.

12oz bottle, thanks to umich03jm. Hazy darker orange color. Thin light khaki head, leaves decent loose lace. Citrus zest in the nose. Some piney hops. Orange - lemon citrus flavor. Good citrusy hop profile, lighter caramel malt. Medium to bigger body. Light carbonation. Sort of crisp texture to it. Mostly dry finish. Very tasty and easy to drink. Light bitter, good zesty taste, particularly in the finish. Freakin’ great DIPA. Intensely drinkable... Sure, it was the first beer of the night, but I went through this in all of 10 minutes. Could have happily chugged it. Markedly more drinkable than the Mikkeller DIPAs I’ve been trying lately. Shorts delivers again.

12oz bottle, pour is a medium hazy orange. Taste is piney hops and citrus, aftertaste that really wallops the palate with bitterness.
