Bottle thanks to rayl101. Semi-opaque amber pour with no head. Light carbonation throughout. Aroma was quite pleasant. Lots of complex malt with loads of caramel with just a touch of sweetness. Flavors were similar, lots of crystal malts, then an odd fruity character that I couldn’t put my finger on. Finish had little to no sweetness, smooth with little carbonation. Quite good for the style.

Ugh, I thought this beer was going to be really good, seeing as it was from Short’s Brewing but alas, it tastes like plums.....GROSS! Sorry Short’s, i don’t mean to rag on you for this one but, man, i have to choke this beer down and then poop it out the next morning.

355ml bottle from the fridge at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico. Brown-reddish body. Frothy fawn-coloured head, fast diminishing. Mild aroma of earthy malts and dusty hops. Taste of pumpkin and ripe fruits. Bittersweet ending. So and so (hotel room, London 30.07.2011).

A decent red. Has a light caramel/apple sweetness that balances the crisp hops out. Very drinkable and decently tasty but a tad British... i mean boring.. same thing.

Smells like apples, very fruity. A very dry malty beer. I taste tons of green tart apples. Cool, something new.

Bottle; Pour is murky dark amber with a modest, frothy beige head that retains on the average side. Very light, spotty lacing in this glass. The nose is french toast, toffee, and chocolate malt; the flavor profile is lightly bitter, a touch sweet, raisins, toasted... caramel/chocolate... I’m not impressed. I want to like Shorts. I do.

Flat. Old tasting. Definitely malt forward. But somewhat sour and oxidized. Not sure of the age of the bottle that was given to me.

Bottle courtesy of pellegjr. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of caramel some cognac notes, earthy. Tastes of dark fruit, some caramel, toffee, some slight tarteness on the finish. Decent.

12 oz. bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks, Blake! Pours a clear orange-amber with a small beige head. Huge malt aroma- tons of amber, toast, and chocolate- with some dry grains and brown sugar. The flavor is not quite as singularly malty, but has plenty of dusty, toasty, and sweet malts along with some earth, ripe and slightly tart fruit, and brown sugar. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a toasty, fruity mouthfeel. Really over-the-top amber ale that worked for me.
