Stellar Ale is a strong Pale Ale that is light orange to copper in color. It has a medium body and is well known for its hop profile. Quite pungent to the nose, this beer has esters of toasted caramel and aromas of spicy grapefruit. A decent pale ale with some delicious hops that provide a bitter, dry finish.

Nice drinking ipa. Caramel aroma with piney hops. Sweet caramel taste, and bitter, piney hops. Medium bodied beer. Overall a good ipa, might get again.

Bottle. Clear gold pour with a small rocky head that fades to a messy film and leaves some lacing. Aroma is very dank and oily. Weed, pine, wood, flowers, grapefruit, and pineapple. Tastes like dank fruit juice with a bitter finish. Juicy up front with pineapple, oranges, and grapefruit. Dank, bitter, and oily finish with weed, pine, toast and wood. Pretty complex for a 5% IPA.

Nice pine and grapefruit aroma. Pours a hazy orangish-amber with a thin white head. Touch of caramel sweetness, going to strong grapefruit notes, and a lingering bitter finish. A very nice, drinkable IPA.

A very well made citrusy, resiny, fairly dank IPA. Lots to enjoy here. The strong malt backbone just gives this a more rounded body to complement the other pieces. Great stuff from Shorts.

a nice brew, i guess another IPA from shorts? light amber color, citrus and pine nose and just a touch more malt body than some other IPAs. hides its abv quite well as it feels nearly like a session brew.

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, dank notes, wood, grapefruit, and light spice. It pours a transparent amber with a large off-white soapy head that has great retention. There is a lot of soapy clumped lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate citrus with a hint of caramel. There are some light toasted bread notes in the middle. The finish has moderate grapefruit, light dank notes, and a hint of woody flavors. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, this is solid, but I’m generally not a big fan of toasted notes in hoppy beers.

tectactoe (2511) - Michigan, USA - DEC 23, 2014
Bottle: Slightly cloudy, burnt-golden body with a frothy, creamy eggshell cap. Mild lacing. Aroma is crazy dank. Like, the super skunk chop weed, "hey bro do my fingertips still smell like dope." Straight up dirty nuggets. Light bits of perfume, passion fruit, grapefruit, mango, & oily grass surrounding the schwag. Nice, bitter piney flavor up front with bitter grapefruit & pineapple rind, undercurrents of herbal hops, oily resins, & a more modest dankness to it all (though it’s still a bit skunk-a-dunk). Very mild tropical undercut with toasted bready malts & a slightly bitter, dry, herbal & pine laden hop finish. Really enjoyed this one.

I like the gold color but the head disappears quickly. Pleasant citrus aroma. Taste is a little different than expected. It was kind of spicy bitter. Good though! Full palate. I’ll be looking to have again.

12oz bottle...outstanding clean bitter grapefruit zest peels the tastebuds off of the tongue in rapturous glory! Seriously though...this is a tasty IPA.
