Courtesy Beerlando. Mostly clear amber, thin broken white head. Dark sweet malty aroma, pecans are definitely noticable, the maple too, but is more subtle. Nutty and sweet. Taste is malty sweet like a Scottish with a touch of maple.

Mahogany pour with a small off-white head. Notes of maple, damp wood toasted pecan, caramel, charred oak, nuts, and cocoa nibs. Sticky medium body.

Beerlando (3342) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 29, 2009
UPDATED: APR 30, 2009 750 ml. Pours a dark and hazy caramel brown color with glints of reddish amber. A small blanket of creamy tan foam settles in quickly, leaving a thin edge. Spotty, splotchy lace marks the glass. The nose is is really nice, showing heaps of caramel, toasted pecans, maple, brown sugar, and cocoa. Vanilla and oak smooth things out nicely. The flavor follows suit, caramel and maple being the main focus, with pecan and burnt oak adding toasty elements. Big bodied and lightly syrupy, there is a nicely warming alcohol presence on the finish. Really nice brew. Another winner from Shorts.

Thanks to Beerlando via Northernbrews! thanks guys! Very Caramelly nutty aroma, rich malty nose. Pours an amber brown. Very smooth caramel upfront, with a smokey nuttiness, very smooth, and finishes surprisingly dry. Another great from Shorts!

Bottle, the body was a dark mahogany with a tight tan head with a lot of life. Nose was full of dried fruits and toasted nuts. The body has a strong presence in the mouth with good alcohol soak and dazzling carbonation. There is this great nutty flavor that really blew me away, tasted walnuts and pecans with some sweet dark caramel surronding it. Notes of dried cherried and cranberries fill in the malt complexities. The finsh is hot and nutty and really kicked up the spices in my chipotle aioli.

My man anthony hooked me up with this one at DLD 09. Dark red pour, nice aroma. I was warned the nose was better than the flavor, and that’s true it was. But, still, pretty cool beer. A nice woody, sweet nuttiness.

Aroma of alcohol, toast, nuts, and caramel. Some sweetness initially but overpowered by nuts and dark roasted malts.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2009-04-04 -- shared with sayravai and isos, thanks!) Port wine red and hazy. Port wine, nuts and alcohol in aroma. Full bodied and dry palate with little carbonation. Wood, fruitiness, port wine, maple syrup and bitterness in taste. Roastedness and maple syrup in aftertaste.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Slightly hazy, deep red with a small, partly lasting head. Aroma of caramely malt, anisey spiciness, some alcohol, notes of oak and vanilla. Pretty strong maple syrup in the sweetish flavor, with some alcohol, grainy malt, and nutty greasiness. Medium body with low carbonation. Woody and alcoholic, not very complex brew.

Tasted 3/7/09. 750ml bottle. Filtered with a deep red hue. Aromas of dried red berries and fudge. Touch syrupy. Full bodied with a big, sweet malt character. Flavors of fudge and graham crackers. Mild grape candy undertone. Nutty nuance. Decent alcohol burn. A hint of vanilla somewhere in the palate. Interesting and fun to drink.
