Wit Happens is a Belgian White beer brewed with coriander, grains of paradise, and orange peel. Delicate aromas of sweet citrus and bready malt rise from this hazy pale yellow ale. Although perceivably low on the nose, the spicy contributions from the Belgian yeast come through instantly upon first taste, offering pleasant clove complements to the additional peppery flavors. Followed by a soft banana-like sweetness and a mildly pleasant tang, the finish is relatively clean marked by a slight spiciness and a touch of bitterness.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/27/2014. Pours hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, light banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, light banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy spice/bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, orange peel, light banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic robustness and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spice, and pale malt flavors; with awesome spice and yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is an outstanding witbier! Tons of awesome balance and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, spice, and malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Pailhead (4572) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUN 28, 2014
Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, light banana, a touch of bubblegum, and coriander. It pours a mostly transparent dull gold with a touch of haze. It has a one finger white head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is some sporadic thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light citrus with a touch of banana and Belgian yeast. The finish has light-moderate orange peel and light coriander. Overall, a solid Belgian Wit.

This beer had a less than medium yellow-gold pour with a touch of haze (the bottle had a layer of sediment) and presented a one finger white cover that receded quickly to a ring and an island of bubbles in the center, it left a few small spots of lacing on the glass, the aromas were banana and pear fruit, vanilla and pear fruit sweetness with some wheat and white grape notes, it had flavors of wheat, faint banana and other fruit in the background, there was some sweetness, very faint spice, there was a small bitterness and a blip of citrus after the finish, the mouth feel was light and had a little creaminess on the lips, the carbonation was sort of soft, I think more carbonation would help, it was an ok drink.

Draft pour on tap at GTMW 2013 (Madison, WI). Pours a pale golden hue, gentle haziness, big cakey creamy white head. Good lacing and stick around. Aromas are grainy, dry, a bit spicy. Mellow fruit, dough. Initial is smaller body, decent fruit up front of pear, gentle banana and subtle citrus. More grainy doughy middle. The spicy yeast feel starts to hit into the backend. Dry, a firm spiciness, more fruit and sweetness up front. Finish is a bit more grounded, nice.
