Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned, regular;
In days gone by the master of the house demanded of his brewer the finest ale to be drunk in the house. Rich and smooth this beer has the complexities of a fine treacle pudding, ruby red in colour with fierce spicy hops and mellow roast barley. The finish is smooth powerful and well balanced.

Bottle courtesy of my dad, had this 28-06-08 Pours reddy brown with off white decent sized head. Fruit and malty with some hoppy back up, there is some decent bitterness towards the end and whilst I quite liked this beer it lacked a bit of oomph considering the 5.2 abv, still not too bad.

Bottle. Deep ruby and brown with an off-white foam. Aromas are toffee, chocolate and roast malts with some berry fruit. Spicy pine hops as per a decent IPA. Flavours are sweet malts with some berry fruitiness. Quite chewy with good prickly bitterness. Some warming alcohol. The finish is fruity and bitter. Pretty good.
