COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Launched in 2002, Shumensko Red was the first red beer ever to hit the Bulgarian market. It’s still a slightly odd character, highlighted by its slogan "This is the different beer…" and a series of TV commercials that illustrate the ancient Celtic art of making unique red beer.

Aroma was weak some sweet wet malt. Gold body with dirty dish soap head. Wet malt mash with some wet wheat grain flavor. New country rating for me nothin special from this bottle.

Bottled. A light yellow beer with a lazing thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of metal and straw, and so is the flavor.

Papsoe (25094) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 14, 2008
(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of KnutAlbert. 4.6 ABV. Clear golden with a creamy, white head. Discreet, lightly sweet malt aroma. Medium body. lightly sweet malt and a dry, lightly hoppy finish. But Irish Ale? I wondered if I translated the Cyrillic letters wrong and this actually was the Spetsialno? 110108

Sigmund (4825) - Tau, NORWAY - JAN 13, 2008
500 ml bottle with pull-off cap, thanks to KnutAlbert. ABV is 5.1%. Deep copper coloured beer, decent off-white head. Moderate aroma of malts, some fruit and caramel. The flavour also has some malts and fruit, but is fairly bland and lacks hops. The mouthfeel is more watery than you expect from a beer this dark. Nothing offensive about it, just boring.

Bottle. [Great two day tasting session @ Papsoe] Small thick white head that lasted. Clear flat looking body with a yellow color. Aroma of grain, caramel, vegetable and light metallic notes. Over the palate light grass. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Light bitter and sweet flavor. Light dry and bitter finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours pale yellow, clear, and with a diminished white head. Fresh and mild hoppy aroma. Light hoppy fresh flavour, dry and slight bitter towards the finish. Solid bitter and slight cardboardish finish. Irish ale?
