(23 janvier 2013)

On tap (taster) @ Siboire Jacques-Cartier.

Appearance: Clear very pale yellow with a small white head and little lacing.

Aroma: Light spiciness, cereals, herbal notes, light fruitiness and a lot of alcohol for that kind of abv.

Taste: Cereals, light spiciness, herbal notes, boozy presence and vegetal notes.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Hot and a bit spicy finish.

Overall: Not my kind of tripel. Nothing out of line here... yeast, alcohol and cereals are something you definitely expect from a tripel but it doesn’t have much depth or complexity, the balance is at best average, the alcohol isn’t particularly well integrated, so I didn’t enjoyed it that much.

No head left, pale copper-golden beer. Oxydation, lactic, sweet-sour. Sweet-sourish, oxydation, lactic. Well, nose and taste are alike, and I’ve run out of qualifications. Lame, tired, slight alcoholwarming backthroat. Obviously badly kept sample, needs to be retried.

Usually this microbrewery brews pretty decent beer but this beer is the worst Triple I ever had in my entire life. I didn’t finish my glass. The first taste was actually good but there were some weird notes, it reminded me of "Buckley syrup.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. Fruity aroma, and yeasty. Drinkable, not bad, hits the style.

On tap at brewpub.
Appearance : Hazy peach with a small head. Nice color. Light lacing.
Aroma : Nice yeast, quite spicy and peachy. Quite fresh.
Taste : Peachy, yeasty and spicy. Interesting fruity notes. Finish is rather bitter. A bit astringent.
Overall : Enjoyable yeast and fruit but a bit too spicy. The astringency also left me a bit perplex. Still well made, very fresh and crisp.

On tap at the brewpub from a taster glass. Aroma is quite floral and spicy, I can pick up hints of alcohol, not really inviting. Taste is quite spicy from the hops and the booze but I moslty taste the alcohol. Palate is very lively and too harsh for my liking. Too boozy and rough sums it up.
