Cask... RBSG 2014... This beer rocks!... Pours tar-black and as flat as a pancake. The aroma is reminiscent of a símore - graham, singed marshmallow, vanilla, toasted coconut and milk chocolate. Full-bodied and velvety with no carbonation. The flavor is a fantastic swirl of dark chocolate, caramel, espresso, whisky and burnt malts. Lengthy, boozy, toasted coconut finish. World class imperial stout!

A couple of ounce pour at the RBSG Beer dinner at Dressels. This had been in the barrel only hours before and was not carbonated. Still, it was an amazing experience. Perhaps the great dinner it was paired with helped but this was an amazing beer. So dark and a delicious aroma. Marshmallows, bourbon, wood, dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, and so much more. All of it good! I cannot wait to see what Side Project does with the remaining contents of this barrel.

Draft - Marsh-mellow, vanilla, chocolate and a candy bar sweetness. Jet black and still. Peat, molasses, wood notes, sweetness and so much more. Absolute heaven. A distinct difference between nose and taste, but although both are completely different, they both rock.

Draft @ Dresselís Pub, St Louis, MO. At that beer dinner. Pours a black color with a small fast disappearing tan head. Has a roasted malty woody bourbonvvanilla aroma with hints of chocolate. Roasted malty woody chocolate bourbon vanilla flavor. Has a roasted malty woody chocolate vanilla bourbon finish.

I believe it was phaleslu who once said "Pour served in a snifter at the brewers dinner for RBSG. This was pulled out of the barrels six hours earlier and served still, no carbonation"

This beer was almost ink black, of course perfectly still but pretty enough in color and legs to get by on just such traits.

The aroma is truly intense, loads of chocolate with some cherry and espresso. Itís got a chocolate cake thing going on for sure with a bunch of vanilla. Itís very sweet smelling and does have a bourbon character to it but the richness of the beer almost overpowers it.

The flavor is very sweet, but also far better balanced in this right than the flavor was. Itís a touch ashy and plenty bitter with some dark chocolate & cherry. Itís got a very nice bourbon character throughout with oak and vanilla, but alas... it is decidedly mellow in bourbon flavor.

What a unique and wonderful experience, it was served with desert... and wonderful as desert was, this just out shined it by a mile.

Draft at RBSG 2014 Dresselís Pub Beer Dinner. Came straight from the barrels. Black with no head, brown hues. Aromas of dark chocolate, fudge, caramel, vanilla, marshmallows. Tastes of dark chocolate, roast, vanilla, marshmallows. Medium body with a dry and light boozy finish. No carbonation which is to be expected and didnít detract from the beer.

Pour served in a snifter at the brewers dinner for RBSG. This was pulled out of the barrels six hours earlier and served still, no carbonation. Pours a deep brown with no head and just a little amber highlighting on the edges. The aroma is sensational: there is a rich marshmallow character that along with chocolate, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, and charred oak, give it a símores-like quality. After a while, the char becomes more prominent, as does roasted malt. Best-smelling beer all weekend. The flavor has a distinct charred oak throughout, not surprising given how recently it was pulled from the barrel, along with toasted sugar, roast, chocolate, molasses, and vanilla. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, roasty, rich mouthfeel and no carbonation. Really interesting experiment, and Iíd like to see this one get a proper release and reach a wider audience because itís special.

Draft. Nice dense black pour, vanilla, cocoa, caramel, bourbon on the nose. Flavor is heavy vanilla, as if extract had gratuitously been poured in but Ill give it extra points for pairing well with the desert. Love that it was still straight from the barrel.

Draft at beer dinner. RBSG. St. Louis. Pours black oil. Nose/taste of toasted burnt marshmallow, fudge cake, brownie, vanilla, charred wood, coffee and adult chocolate milk. Full bodied. Simply amazing.
