Our Brett Venture series is the exploration of how single strains of Brettanomyces ferment and condition a Saison malt bill. Each Brett Venture will be fermented in and aged in wine barrels with a different Brettanomyces strain to showcase its unique characteristics.

Brett Venture #2 With Lactobacillus uses the same saison malt bill found in Brett Venture #1, but is 100% brett fermented with a strain from Drie Fonteinen and aged in oak barrels for 10 months with Lactobacillus.

Bottle thanks Tim. Yellow pour with white head. Nice funky fruit, ert lambic like aromas. Flavors are sour tart, closer to an American sour.

Bottle sample thanks to phaleslu during the post Grand Tasting bottle share in our room. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have Brett, grass, citrus, some mild tropical fruit notes, pineapple, dry, farmhouse funk, yogurt, lactic notes, wood, decent though I would like to try this again in a different setting. The lacto versions were definitely better.

Bottle at Erics. Pours a hazy body with white lacing. Aroma is super funky lemon-brett character. Mouthfeel is tart and crisp with notes of funky lemon, citrus, peach, melon and lots of brett. Some vanilla as well. Awesome.

750ml bottle pours light semi-clear pale yellow with 2 finger fluffy head. Nose is bretty funk, horseblanket, yeast, soft lemon slice and grain notes emerge as it warms. Taste is nice fruity brett, lots of barnyard character, lemon, lacto tartness is balanced wonderfully on the tail end. Finish is tart lemony grain, oak, white wine notes. Well made, balanced saison.

Bottle shared by JBPortland ! Pours a slightly hazy yellow golden color with fizzy white foam... the nose starts off a bit tight with light notes of horseblanket, wet oak and dust. As the beer warms up from fridge temps the lemon tart lactic notes roll in... Beautiful creamy mouthfeel like liquid lemon meringue pie flavors, unripe pineapple, round wheat. Another tasty side project offering !

Holy crap another winner from SP. Cloudy yellow, fluffy white head. This one is a really delicious mix of tart, sour, funk, citrus zest and triopical fruits. Just wonderful stuff.

Bottle shared at the CCB Brewpub PreHunahpu Tasting - A light brett nose with some citrus notes. The taste is wonderful - brett, lacto, tangerines, lemon zest. From start to finish, this was a solid beer.

Light pineapple/lemonlike tartness, not a particularly noticeable brett farmhousy character, pretty easy to drink, tasty stuff.

Pours a light hazy yellow with no head. Aroma of Brett, pineapples, bandaid. Taste is dry, fruity and very funky. A bit too dry for me.
