My Chardonnay barrel fermented, Blonde American Wild Ale that has been aging for 18 months in oak that was then aged on Turkish Apricots specifically for this event. Same base beer as Fuzzy, but with Apricots instead of Peaches

First served at Lions, Tigers, and Beers 2014 - Pending larger scale release.

On tap @ FoBAB 2014. Pour is cloudy orange/yellow with a small white head. Flavor and aroma of lactic acid, slight vinegar, yogurt, vanilla extract, oak, white wine, and apricots. Finish is a bit more sour than the body.

Hazy gold, thin fuzzy white lasts. Acetic plastic nose, light rind and skin. Puckeringly sour, jaw busted with apricot, heavy skin, oily palate near end slathered tongue, slick, biting carbonation gives it something.

On tap at fobab. Cloudy straw colored pour with a slight white head. Aromas of apricot, vinegar, big lactic acid. Taste is a bit too overly tart for me. This one may have gotten a bit out of control. I was expecting better. Medium body and medium carb.

Draft pour at FOBAB. Pours a barely cloudy orange-gold color with a small eggshell white head that quickly settles into a ring. Apricots are certainly at the forefront of this one in both aroma and flavor, along with vanilla, oak, white wine grapes, lemon juice, lactic funk, vinegar, yogurt, and a bit of mustiness. Light-medium bodied, with a juicy, acetic mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Since everyone compares the two, I’ll say Fuzzy is my preference. But this is also very good.

This one poured a bright orange color with a white head. Aroma was of hay, lemon, stone fruit, and grainy wheat. Flavor was tongue biting, tart, sour peachy rings a little, funk, and lemon.

Draft. a Very tart and sour beer, nicely dry, huge sour vinegar notes, some fruit character that woudl be tart apricot, and the oak just sticks to the background. Nice brew.

Draft sample at fobab. hazy golden color. Aroma is sour and fruit. Taste has quite the acidic sour punch. Juicy, fruit apricot flavor. Medium carbonation. Not quite the same level as fuzzy, the sour overpowers the fruit a bit in this one and I like it the other way, but that’s really nit picking an otherwise delicious beer.

Draft on tap at Lions Tiger Beers 2014 (Chicago, IL). Pours a nicely hazed golden straw hue, gentle golden orange richness on the edges grows. Frothy creamy white head dies to a decent ring, sticks around ok in that capacity and laces ok. Aromas are tart, lactic and lemony with apricot, gentle pitty fruit meets bread, straw, funk. Some cobwebs and oak meet gentle yet growing white wine, white grape, honeysuckle and crisp straw. Initial is sour and on point, rich apricot, lemony lactic life, bubbly frizzy elements tickle the tounge. Yogurt, lemon, not acidic but sour. Expertly blended or pulled off with some strawn crisp bread, faint cheesiness. Middle is fruity, citric with a more dominant apricot element. Fruity, sour, and quite lovely. Gentle bread, a touch of prickly acidity as we start to trail out. Sour, lively and fruity. The apricots play well. A touch more acidic as we trail out, finish is sour, dry and gentle bready, straw elements. The cheesiness gives just a touch, funk, but not in a bad way. Really a nice beer. Much improved over my FoBAB Fuzzy rating. A richer fruit and sourness that pops up front here rues the day. Rich, prickly, sour and well crafted. Pulled off at just the right time as it starts to tip towards acidity but just enough to make it interesting. Well done with a dry, sour finish, crisp body. Nice shit. Nose falls a bit behind but the flavor is on, the palate score is legit as this really straddles perfection for my personal sour/acidity/funk sort of balance. Lovely beer.
