COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
After Saison du Fermier had been fermented in and aged in Chardonnay barrels for several months, we inoculated one barrel with wild Missouri yeast and bacteria and continued the oak-aging. This added deep layers of complexity and soft, rounded oak nuances to Oude Fermier. This old farmhouse ale was aged for 18 months before its release.

Bottle... RBSG 2014… Pours cloudy and straw-colored with a small, creamy, white head that hangs around a good while. The bouquet is both fruity and funky, offering heaps of fuzzy fruits and white oak. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is juicy, fruity and lightly sour. Loads of stone fruit – apricot, plum - and white oak. Yeasty, tart, fuzzy-fruit finish.

Bottle during RBSG 2014 Bus Tour at Perennial’s Barrel Room. Hazy pale yellow with off-white head. Aromas of barnyard funk, floral notes, light citrus. Tastes of funk, floral notes, Brett, light vinegar. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Solid though I prefer Saison du Fermier

Pour from a bottle at Perennial on the RBSG bus tour. Pours a hazy pale yellow-gold with a small white head. This one is gorgeous: notes of lemon citrus, white grapes, herbs (lemongrass in particular), hay, earth, fresh pears, oak, vanilla, and some musty funk. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, funky, dry mouthfeel. Outstanding. Really hoping to try this one again soon.

At brewery during RBSG 2014: Wow this is great, depth of acidity and plae malt with some added funky and cheesy notes in a happy spot. Very little actually Chardonnay which actually makes me happy. Just a bit of saison spicy and earthiness too. My 2nd fav of the Perennial/Side Project tasting.
