COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison de Rouge is a dry-hopped Red Saison that was fermented in red wine barrels with 100% Brettanomyces. This Saison will be very different than previous releases as it focuses more on hops, spice, malt and a little funk without the acidity.

Although it finished really dry for this malt bill, it still has a bunch of orchard fruit, starburst candy, orange and grape juice and lime peel on the palate from the dry hops (Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe).

5 months in Chambourcin barrels
7% ABV
Kettle Hops - Nugget, Amarillo
Dry Hops - Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra
100% Brett Fermented

Thanks to Armin for sharing this beer. Red with lots of foam. Leather, olive oil, yeast, and flowers. This is complex. Some east, the brett keeps it dry, and it finishes dry as well. I love the complexity and unusual aromas

Bottle shared by Armin, thanks! Pours a murky amber brown with a light yellowish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is red wine forward with grass, light funk and a hint of citrus. Flavor has light tart fruits and red wine with backing notes of light grain and funk.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy reddish brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of wine, funk, earth, some slight lemon, oak, touch of caramel, toast. Taste was a mix of leather, funk, lemon, floral, hints of earth, slight dirty feet, finishing with leather, tart.

Bottle from Keir. Thanks man. Apperance is cloudy red with fizzy white head. Aroma is oak, brett funk and a hint of nail polish. Taste is oak, vinious funk, citrus, and a touch of nail polish. Pretty good, lots of funk as this bottle is well over a year old now, itís got a bit of off flavour but not enough for it to take away much from the beer. Solid.

750ml bottle, shared by phaleslu. Hazy red orange color. Dark brick. Thin off-white ring of head. Bits of yeast in the body. Wow, crazy nose. Fantastic smoke... In the flavor, itís a bit too smokey, though. Big toasty oaky woody flavor. Some dark fruit, mild tannic. Moderate tart taste, some savory, very light sweet. Mostly dry finish. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Donít really get too much aroma hop from this, especially not those listed. Some nice cream cheese, vanilla on the finish as I go through this. Tasty, interesting musty stuff.

Bottle... Pours cloudy and brown with a small, wispy, off-white head. Decent retention. The aroma is earthy and dusty with farmhouse yeast-driven spiciness. Full-bodied with a coarse mouthfeel and airy, champagne-like carbonation. The flavor is semi-sweet and tangy with phenolic spiciness and crusty bitterness. Finishes raspy and Sahara-dry. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

Tap. Pours hazy muddy red, large brown creamy head, lasts forever, lashes well. Aroma is a bit bath roomy, oak, vinous, must, bordering on mushroom. Flavor has a bit of initial sweetness, then medium tart, mushroom (dammit), red wine and oak notes, Brett, citrus. Medium light body, high carbonation.

Bottle. Cloudy light brown pour with an off white pour. Mild vinous aromas. Lots of brett with mild vinous notes and lots of caramel malts. A bit strange, but not bad overall. Average body and mouthfeel.
