From the bottle at Double Helix. Opaque with an attractive cream colored head. Dry roasted malt flavor is not complex at all but still satisfying. More of an Irish stout than Imperial. Still a nice beer.

On tap at Mongoose vs Cobra in Houston and listed as Alien Stout. Close to black with a big beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roast, coffee and tar. On the sweeter side with a light roastiness in the flavor. Medium-full bodied. Good, but lacking some punch and fullness for an imperial stout.

Tap at the Hay Merchant, Houston, 21/05/13. Labelled as ’Alien Stout’ listed as 8.3%. Mid black with a thin tan head that clears edgeward. Nose is chocolate, roast malt, maltesers, liqourice, tar. Taste comprises light roast malt, chocolate, toffee fudge, lactose. Fuller end of medium bodied, fine carbonation, light roast finish. Lacks depth and doesn’t have the ABV for the job, drop the ’imperial’ from the style on this one me thinks! Drinkable but not one to bother revisiting.

Very nice stout; hits all the right notes. Deep beer pour with the requisite off white head. More chocolately than coffee in flavor. A smooth sipper, not roasty or overally complex, although I'm picking up some roastiness in the linger. Very easy drinking. I'm unsure of this stout's ambitions, but I quite like it. Not much to ponder; just stouty goodness! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours black with small creamy beige head. Aroma is dominated by roasted coffee and chocolate notes. Smooth and sweet roasty flavor with a chocolaty finish. This is good, but I’m not sure if it’s an imperial stout.

Dark beer out of the tap with some ruby highlights around the edges. Thin beige head. Roasted grain nose with some coffee notes. Molasses and dark caramel sweetness with come chocolate and green hops in the finish. This is a pretty sweet stout.

Pours a lovely dark brown with a big foamy head the color of brown sugar. Aroma and taste of malt, coffee and chocolate. Solid if unexceptional.

In draught at B2B Bistronomy- Albuquerque. Pours an opaque black with a lingering tan foamy head. Dark malts Roma. Rich creamy mouthfeel with matching big body. Slightly dry early flavor balance then comes slightly sweet black malts take over. No harshness or astringency. No alcohol bite or heat. Nice.
