3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Not sure if this has any distribution but it can be found in Roswell. Dark brown with a thick head. Husky roast aroma and taste with toast and a little bit of nuttiness. Maybe a bit harsh.
Earlier Rating: 11/20/2011 Total Score: 2
Has a chocolatey aroma. Like a strong regular stout in character. Dark brown with a thin head. Ok, this is just way too thin, especially in the finish. I can’t even notice anything else.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the Hay Merchant, Houston, 21/05/13. Labelled as ’Alien Stout’ listed as 8.3%.
Mid black with a thin tan head that clears edgeward.
Nose is chocolate, roast malt, maltesers, liqourice, tar.
Taste comprises light roast malt, chocolate, toffee fudge, lactose.
Fuller end of medium bodied, fine carbonation, light roast finish.
Lacks depth and doesn’t have the ABV for the job, drop the ’imperial’ from the style on this one me thinks!
Drinkable but not one to bother revisiting.

Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with flavors of roasty coffee, malt and a touch of hops. The finish is short with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured up at GABF 2012 with a mahogany colored body that supports a tan head. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, a bit of sweet malts, some sort of spiciness and thin ribbons of molasses. The taste is similar with mostly dark roasted malts mixing with molasses and sort of a rich maltiness that picks up a touch of yeasty spiciness maybe, almost like a bit of a Belgian yeast influence. This comes across as a sessionable imperial stout.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Pecos Flavors in Roswell. No tap handle yet, they haven’t even designed labels! Is black and proper looking with a lasting beige head. Mild, light cocoa aromas, a little ovaltine. Soft palate. A lactic character is pleasant. Those same mild cocoa qualities in the aromas carry through and are lingering on the palate. Basically a nice mild cocoa and light roast stout. Simple and nothing wrong with it. Easily the best of the Alien lineup.
