During the 13th century, citizens of Einbeck shared a large public kettle in which they brewed their beer. The kettle moved from home to home as each household used it to produce a batch of beer. The order of the houses was determined by a lottery on May 1st, hence the name Maibock. Brewed with three malts, our version has the richness associated with all Bock (Strong) beers of Germany but still maintains a velvety smoothness characteristic of all Sierra Beers.

Draught. Ok - this is the best beer offered at Sierra. I spend lots of time in Kenya and this is one of the best local beers available in country. Its got a full malty flavor profile and is hopped appropriately for the style. worth grabbing a pint if you find yourself in Nairobi.

On tap at the Brewpub in Kenya. You can only get this at the brewpub and only on tap. Wow someone in East Africa finally made a real beer. It pours a nice deep golden color with a fine white lasting head. Aroma in malt and hops with some sweetness. Taste is much like German Heller Bocks but the alcohol is not so outstanding. The palate is mellow and smooth. Bravo!!!
