3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into Trappist tulip a dark UPS brown with tan head that receded into thin coating. Had curtain lace and a nice med body and low co2. Aroma was earthy and spice with roasted malts. Taste was the same with a nice sweetness. Being a sweet potato hater I was dreading trying this one. I was most surprised by this one out of the 12 pack. I loved the balance and was surprised by some of the comments here based, I guess, on the fact I enjoyed it very much. This is what makes the beer world so fun.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy deep purple, the color of the outside of a grape. Head is lovely -- one inch of pillowy light tan has great staying and sticking power. Aroma is earthy potato skin, toffee, a bit of smokiness and toasted bread loaf. Kind of a weird funk or meatiness in the background. Flavor is similar in malt character -- a touch of caramel, a little smoky malt. Sweetens markedly as it warms, revealing dark raisiny notes and a little citrusy spice. Creamy medium-light body; smooth mild carbonation. Just a bit of noticeable alcohol heat. The flavors in this one only truly reveals themselves when the beer warms to near room temp.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-brown color with a huge foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was malty and sweet with molasses and dark fruits. The flavor was bitter, malty and toasty with notes of cocoa, caramel and dark fruit. Long toasty finish. Medium body. Solid.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From bottle while camping. Not sure about the sweet potatoes, difficult to determine their overall impact. Brown with tan head, mild aroma that matches the Scottish ale style. Not bad, not great, kind of a gimmick.

Rich amber with a moderate light beige covering.

Not much going on with this one but what there is is inoffensive.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Light haze on this amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, pleasant caramel. Little spice. It’s okay but what’s it supposed to be?

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at ChrisO. Thanks to L-Dogg. It pours clear deep brown with a medium beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, toasty, earth, sweet root veg and dried berry. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy, toast, sweet potato, honey roast carrots, roasted malt, candy sweetness and light spice with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty odd stuff. I’m not sure not his one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at chriso’s Easter 2015 tasting - London. Picked up in the USA. Pours clear ruby with a tan cream head. The nose holds bread and dried fruits. Medium sweet flavor with more bready malts, berries, light piney hops, leaves. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with light caramel and ripe fruits. Tasty for sure, but I can’t say the sweet potato addition comes through.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle share at ChrisO’s. Reddy brown, small foamy tan head. Aroma is sweet toffee. Body is medium, slightly foamy, low carbonation. Taste is sweet toffee, some ash, dry resin. It’s quite nice. Simple. Apparently made with sweet potato, which didn’t come across. When told, I thought I could get some in the aroma, but I was searching for it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark mahogany pour - very thin off white head (bottle pour) - aroma is sugary sweet with some roasted malt character - little hop profile...mild peppery spice. Flavor is decent - roasted malt dominates with a good dose of candied malt, but borders on burnt. Spice in background doesn’t dominate. Can’t get past a slight off-flavor - almost diacetyl-like, which is somewhat perplexing. Palate is medium bodied - somewhat high carbonation. Ok, but nothing great, and I must add that I’m really not sure what the sweet potatoes add to this...
