3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from bottle into lager glass a clear gold with some white head that thiner out but lasted till and and think lace. Aroma was muted I got a mixed citrus and some floral notes but I think the malt not the hops stood out. Plenty of co2 and bubble play. Body was a tick thicker than thin. Taste won me over the aroma or looks. It had what is call a mixed citrus that grew slightly grapefruit into the finish with a nice Carmel malt backbone with cereal and a gaining towards the finish bread note. I liked the balance of hop to malt here as I have been getting tired of some of the grapefruit bombs of late. A little pine comes through also and some bitterness that grows towards the end. Enjoyed.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
August 1st, 2014 - The final entry in the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp box is the Electric Ray, an auburn beer with some serious foam, lifted and bright white, lifted on columns of suds. The smell is bright and tangy, and even a little sour, featuring lime juice and the citrus bite of ponzu, with some weedy, dank hops to accent it with bitterness. The flavor focuses more on lie and tortilla chips, delivered on a medium to medium-light body, and concluding with a powerful aftertaste of rough and tough rust. The foretaste is, by extreme contrast, light and grainy, like a saison. The emphasis is clearly on the aftertaste, as it repeatedly masks the the subtler foretaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from the Beer Camp series pack. Pours a dark orange color and topped by a small head of of white foam that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma shows notes of fresh citrus hops with hints of grapefruit and orange to go with some pale grains, and a toasted caramel and toffee malt base. The flavor follows with the pale malts, caramel, and toffee up front to go with the grapefruit and orange from the citrus hops. The lager yeast adds a bit of dryness and some alcohol peaks its way through as well. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a crisp, bitter finish. This is a nice IPL, but just a little too big on the body and alcohol for me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours golden/orange with about a finger of head. Aroma of caramel, light citrus, melon. Taste is somewhat sweet and biscuity with some resiny bitterness coming in towards the finish. Medium/light bodied. Masks the alcohol a little too well.

There are enough excellent IPAs that the IPL really need not exist. But pretty good brew nonetheless

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Camping with beer Camp once again, bottle. IPL with great hops, clean finish and some grapefruit in between. Another success for Sierra Nevada ’ s hop torpedo, possibly the best hop head invention since beer itself.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bold imperial pils with aroma and flavor that is both strong in bitterness and well balanced. Nice colors with a weighty palate and strong carbonation. Still retained that Pilsner character though.
