Limb & Life is a companion to the big beer-an acorn off the larger tree. (Life & Limb) It is a 5% ABV small beer-a low-gravity beer made using the residual sugar as “second runnings” from the first larger brew, fortified with American hops. This is a session beer.

Draught @ TFD - Pours a translucent brown with a very small beige head...aroma is floral hops, roast malt and some toast, citrus...flavour is, well, unique...roasted grain and lemon zest, dry malt and some smoke, was hard for me to finish, just a mishmash of conflicting flavours...I dig SN and DFH brews, but they need to stay on their respective coasts moving forward...

JW77 does it again! Brown pour. Small head. Aroma has citrus hops, dough, caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is pretty big for a 5% beer. Lots of caramel and citrus with some light nutiness. Good.

Growler at the release of Flaming Fury. Pours a clear brown with a thin white head. Smells like cigarette butts, smoky and acrid. Flavor is similar, just acrid bitterness. This was gross.

Draft. Clear dark brown body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel/bread, some tea, peach. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit, some bread, tea, light nut, floral. Light-medium body, light resin. Tasty hoppy brown ale.

Draft at Churchkey. Pours chestnut brown, minimal head with a lot of lacing. Very faint malt aroma, with no hops. Palette is thin with little taste up front and a malty backtaste with some maple on the finish. This could be a session beer, but there are much better session beers out there. Overall I’m a little surprised that Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head could combine to produce such a bland offering.

Murky brown color with a small dense head. Aroma is very light, some walnuts and faint pine hop bitterness. Flavor has burnt toast, roasted nuts, and earthy spice. A bit of lingering bitterness. Would be better on a hot summer day, not a cold, rainy day.
