COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Torpedo Pilsner is a hop-forward take on the crisp classic lager. We and the folks at Firestone Walker share a passion for New Zealand hop varietals, so we loaded our legendary Hop Torpedo with southern hemisphere hops for a fruity, floral twist on the pilsner style.

Just down the road from us in California’s Central Coast wine country, this rock star brewery has earned “Mid-size Brewery of the Year” at the World Beer Cup four times. Like us, Firestone is passionate about hops. Their skill with the ingredient shines in their Pale Series and elsewhere in a long beer lineup driven by a premier brewing team.

Quite a hoppy pils. Pine, cereal, grass in the aroma and taste with hop bitterness at the forefront. Gold pour, decent sized head. Wouldnt mind this being a regular seasonal release

Light hazy golden with a medium sized dense white head. Aroma is floral honey notes, apricots, grain and pine. Taste is light sweet grain notes, light bitter citrusy pine, crisp. Finish is crisp cereal with floral honey notes, light bitter. Light bodied, average carbonation.

Very nice. It’s beers like this that are changing the face of the style. Nice pale malt and pine hop aroma. Nice clear golden color with a good white head. Average palate with strong cabonation. Bold flavor that was refreshing with a strong hop presence but not too harsh to take away from the style’s subtleties.

12 ounce bottle from Hayduke that we had over facebook chat. This beer pours with some haze and is white golden. A nice frothy white head. A pleasant aroma of bright citrus and apricots. The flavor begins quite bitter but that fades. A lot of the same flavor the aroma brings. Citrus and apricots but with some grapefruit and lemon, too. A bit of honey appears later. This is really nice. It is another example of this series blowing away styles and making very tasty beers.

This was shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Pours a lemon gold with a long lasting white head. Nose of grains, some apricot and white grapes and flowers. Medium body. A very smooth and clean mouth feel. The flavor is rich and greets you with a blast of fruit, lemon citrus, and an earthy bitterness. The finish is a lemony bitter and dry. This is a really nice beer and wonderfully drinkable. .

Bottle. Shared by Brian. A very clear light gold with a minimal fizzy head. A grainy crackery with lots of very mild fruity NZ hops but the hoppiness has really dropped off May 2014. Bitter & boring with just a fleeting hop fruitiness. Mostly crackery graininess. Past it’s prime.

Des notes herbacées astringente, de la citronnelle et des céréales miellés. L’amertume est tenace et un brin démesurée mais c’est un baume sur la soif adéquat.

Bottle. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Spicy citrus hops on the nose over a background of bright grain and crackers. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel, crisp bright hops and snappy grain. Smooth clean finish with some dusty yeast and smooth bitterness.

Light golden color color with one-finger head. Some tiny suspended particles really light up the beer. Bread and biscuit malt aroma. Dusty, floral, tropical fruit aromas, too. Light bodied with average co2. Taste is mildly sweet with a touch of fruit and slightly grainy malt flavor. Quite bitter. Finish is a little harsh at cold temps. Hop bitterness is accentuated by the dry finish. I think the beer succeeds in what it is trying to do. However, it comes off slightly harsh to my palate.

Bottle thanks to sonnycheeba. Pours a transparent golden with thin off white head. Aroma and taste of crisp malts with some citrus flavors.
