2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Inspired by the perennial café favorite, Double Latte combines two of the greatest things in life: good coffee and great beer. Oregon’s Ninkasi Brewing knows their way around a good cup of joe. Featuring cold-press coffee from the legendary Stumptown Coffee Roasters and a dose of milk sugar, this coffee milk stout is a rich and roasty treat.

This young-gun brewery has a locomotive charge. A rich conversation at a local bottle shop in 2005 has morphed into a Pacific Northwest staple. Named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation, Ninkasi’s first batch of beer was Total Domination IPA and it remains a must for those with a lupulin itch.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours basically black with a smallish head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is sweet and roasty, totally centered around coffee, and wonderfully so.

The flavor balances roasty bitterness with sweetness just so, the coffee is wonderfully heavy handed and well complimented by roasty malt. The beer is indeed sweet but probably has a low-end of sweetness per the style (as far as my experience)

Totally enjoyable on all accounts, sheesh

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2014 Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma and Taste is sweet cacao and dark roasted malt, a bit of sweet milk chocolate flavor. Palate is a medium body, good carbonation, a bit of a sticky mouth feel. Finish is sweet bitter dark roasted cacao, moderate milk choco with moderate roasted mocha espresso bitter notes, mildly dry ending with a good bit of alcohol kick. A good tasty full flavored latte.

(Bottle) This is WAY better than I was expecting. Really nice roast coffee notes but perfectly balanced with rich malty sweetness. Best milk stout I’ve ever had. But, it’s pretty intense; good for drinking while during the heart of winter.

Wow! wonderful aroma of fresh brewed coffee and cream. Like in a diner. Pours black in the glass. Really clean flavor of coffee, roasted malt, and a hint of creaminess on the tongue. Overall, what a really nice beer.

Incredible. This is probably the best sweet stout I’ve had. The aroma of coffee is over the top and the taste is coffee, faint chocolate, and lots of roasty malt notes. The finish is clean and sweet. There really isn’t anything wrong with this one. Awesome!
