COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Inspired by the perennial café favorite, Double Latte combines two of the greatest things in life: good coffee and great beer. Oregon’s Ninkasi Brewing knows their way around a good cup of joe. Featuring cold-press coffee from the legendary Stumptown Coffee Roasters and a dose of milk sugar, this coffee milk stout is a rich and roasty treat.

This young-gun brewery has a locomotive charge. A rich conversation at a local bottle shop in 2005 has morphed into a Pacific Northwest staple. Named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation, Ninkasi’s first batch of beer was Total Domination IPA and it remains a must for those with a lupulin itch.

This was surprisingly good, excellent even. The aroma was roasting company fresh and the coffee comes through like strong iced coffee. Then the slight lactic sourness and rich mouthfeel are just perfect.

Bouteille. Liquide brun foncé avec une mousse beige. Un nez intense de café au lait. Une bouche puissante, profonde avec une finale au chocolat amère. Délectable.

12oz bottle, black pour with a thick tan head. The smell is coffee, roast, even lactose. Good lacing. The taste is of sweet malts, roasty, toasted flavors, and coffee. Good balance, good stout bite flavor. Coffee bitter finish.

Ridiculously rich brown coloured body with a slight cola coloured glow when held up to a light, but with a three centimetre tall dense deep brown head. Aroma of chocolate, earth, nuts, coffee (big time), cream and an assertive pit fruit and raisin sweetness throughout - very nice. Full-bodied; Strong rich malt flavours dominate with a good creamy flavour and a dense alcohol, oak, brandy and mushroomy flavour right behind. Aftertaste shows a good depth of sugars, roasted malt, coffee, earth and nuts especially with a layering aspect of the flavours and profiles. Overall, a very nice sweet stout with a ton of flavours, a rich finish and a very pungent complexity that shows very well - so far the best of the mixed twelve pack, and a great option entirely. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Pentagon Row) on 30-July-2014 for US$22,00 for a full twelve pack sampled a few blocks away in Washington on 08-September-2014.

Bottle. Coffee aroma with lactic chocolate sweetness underneath. Pours black with a thin light brown head and not much lacing. Rich mouthfeel with good lactose and chocolate flavor to start. Finishes smooth with strong roasted coffee flavors. Very good to begin with, but a lot of coffee on the finish which was almost too much.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma certainly is like a latte, with lactic notes, coffee and cocoa. Flavour is pretty identical, with coffee, cocoa and lactose sugar. There is even a slight boozy kick at the end. Full-bodied and well-constructed. Very nice stuff.
