2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Inspired by the perennial cafť favorite, Double Latte combines two of the greatest things in life: good coffee and great beer. Oregonís Ninkasi Brewing knows their way around a good cup of joe. Featuring cold-press coffee from the legendary Stumptown Coffee Roasters and a dose of milk sugar, this coffee milk stout is a rich and roasty treat.

This young-gun brewery has a locomotive charge. A rich conversation at a local bottle shop in 2005 has morphed into a Pacific Northwest staple. Named after the Sumerian goddess of fermentation, Ninkasiís first batch of beer was Total Domination IPA and it remains a must for those with a lupulin itch.

Sweet, sticky lactose forward milk stout. Roasty nose and medium body. Dark bitter coffee flavors battle with dark malts, but a bit astringent on the back.

12 ounce bottle from last summerís Beer Camp mix pack, purchased 13 months ago at Holiday Wine Cellar ($25.99 for 12-pack). Pours black with some brown highlights. The two fingers of creamy mocha-colored head has truly excellent retention, actually looks like an espresso drink with foam on top. AROMA of spicy acidic coffee beans, vanilla, espresso with creamy milk or coffee creamer, and dark roasted malts. FLAVOR of dark artisanal coffee with plenty of lightly sweet milk, dark bitter chocolate, roasted nuts, creamy vanilla, and big roasty and slightly burnt malts. Moderate sweetness overall and finishes with notable lingering coffee bitterness. Despite the moderately high ABV, the lactose seems to give it a lighter body and softer mouthfeel. The coffee character is really good here and well balanced with the stout as a whole, even after more than a year of aging. This would have to be the best of the twelve beers from last summerís Beer Camp mix pack. (405, 978)

Yup, from that old ass mixed Beer Camp box. Good lookin, lasting brown head, nice lace. Black. Yummy, coffee nose, chocolate. Medium, creamy smooth body with a soft carbonation and nicely oily. Good roast and coffe flavors, caramel and a hint of vanilla. Slight burnt notes and some berries. Fairly dry finish. Yummy. Bottle from statelineliquors.

(Bottle, 0.355 l, at laitiís, 20150613, thanks) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts and coffee. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were coffee, cream, burnt malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, coffee and bitterness. A too burnt brew.

APPEARANCE - beautiful black, thick pour. Head is light brown & lovely. NOSE - surprisingly little considering the coffee flavor the robust coffee taste. FLAVOR - exceptional coffee balance and stout balance. Deep coffee flavors are slightly offset by the malty sweetness. NOTES - the best Beer Camp of them all.

5/22/2015 (bottle): The aroma is sugared coffee with a splash of cream, dark chocolate, and a sprinkling of roasted malt. Very, very dark brown color, opaque; thin cratered crown of beige-colored foam. Coffee up front in the flavor giving way to dark chocolate, roasted malt, creamy light sweetness; bittersweet finish with slightly herbal hops and a slightly espresso-like acidic finish. The coffee aftertaste grows as it warms. Warming alcohol, but it isnít overt. Medium body, prickly carbonation, average mouth feel. Robust and is a lot like iced coffee with just a bit of cream and sugar. The coffee is the main star, but it isnít just beer with a splash of coffee. However, I really donít like lactose in beer. Overall, this is a well-crafted beer that is quite enjoyable. However, one 12 fl. oz. bottle is more than enough. I like it, but this just isnít my cup of tea... er, coffee... anymore.

355 ml bottle. Cheers veliemboys. Pours a pitch black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of strong espresso notes, syrup and licorice. Flavour of strong roastiness, chocolate, salty licorice, sugary sweetness and strong bitter coffee notes. A bit thin mouthfeel. Medium bodied and a very dry, malty, coffee finish. Nice coffee bitterness here.

Best one yet from Beer Camp case. So, so good. Delicious. Perfect balance between malt, lactose, hops and cold press. Cold press adds so much flavor without the acidity- really makes for a superior coffee stout. Nice roasted, chocolate notes. Milk sugar is there without being overly sweet. Pours black with a decent tan head. Medium bodied- on the lighter side for a stout. Finish is clean and long. Exceptional
