2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Our friends at Oskar Blues pioneered great beer in a can and, as mutual members of the canned craft club, this partnership was a perfect fit. CANfusion is a coming togetheróa fusion, if you willóof flavors from across the spectrum of brewing: spicy rye, tangy wheat and a bright citrusy hop aroma.

Oskar Blues is the granddaddy of canned craft beer. Like us, they have a fun-loving passion for the outdoors and bikes. It was a natural fit for them to adopt cans as a portable, durable way to tote their favorite beer on the trail, and in the process they paved the way for all other craft brewers to follow.

Part of the 12 pack Beer Camp series. Total Wine in Boca Raton. Drank at home in a snifter. Pours a cloudy orange-light brown with a mild fluffy head. Aroma is hoppy with pine and spruce, a light wheat/grain aroma, and citrus. The taste is similar with a citrus profile, slight bitter pineyness, and a malty backbone with a hint of rye. Slight bitter finish. Moderate carb and a medium to light body.

Type: 12-oz.cam Glass: Stone Ruination IPA pint glass From: Albertsons in Alpine, Calif. Price: $25.99 for the variety Beer Camp Across America 12-pack Purchased: Oct. 17, 2014 Consumed: Oct. 17, 2014 Misc.: Collaboration with New Oskar Blues Brewery; Packaged June 3, 2014 at 4:08 p.m. Poured caramel, auburn (third straight that Iíve called it that), semi-clear color with three fingers of rocky, khaki-white head. A decent amount of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Below average spots of sporadic lacing. Above average retention on the top of the glass all the way down. (Sight - 3.88) Smelled a little bit like the last one I had in the Beer Camp Across America - Yonder Bock. After some more sniffing, got rye hops, sweetened lemon iced tea, plum, tropical hops, mango, floral hops, caramel, honey, slight pear, sour purple grape, cherry cider and some Citra hops. (Smell - 3.88) Tasted pretty close to the nose. Got rye hops, lemon sweetened iced tea, mango and other tropical notes, honey, caramel, some toffee, cherry wheat, bitter Citra hops, faint peppery spices and purple grapes. (Taste - 3.88) Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming finish. Not as boozy I thought would be. (Feel - 3.88) The best of the three I had tonight, but Iím a sucker for most rye beers. (Overall - 3.88) 3.88 87 B+

Poured from can to glass. Reddish copper hue with creamy tan head that settled. Aroma is spicy rye, caramel, bread, slight sulphur. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a spicy hop following and a dry, slightly sulphur finish. Overall this is an interesting beer. Iím not sure that rye compliments the Bock style.

Draft. Its a sugary staleish bockbeer. Some floral hop notes? Dominated by a candy like character.

Nice copper color with continuously rising bubbles propping up a 1cm head. Tropcial fruit cocktail, biscuits, and rye spiciness come through on aroma. Same taste as aroma - but each component is more pronounced. Huge fruity characteristics up front with lingering rye bite. Medium to light mouthfeel and spritely carbonation. Pretty nice.

Can. Nice copper hue, one inch of off-white froth. Aroma is biscuits, corn, a hint of caramel and peanut skins. Flavor has some grassy/orange german hop character, backing up a clean biscuit/caramel blend. Solid.

Pour from a 12oz can into a shaker. Nice citrusy/tropical hop notes accompanied by a slight breadiness. It has a beautiful amber color with about a 1 finger tan colored head, which receded quickly and left almost no lacing. It tastes very similar to the smell, but the rye is much more present. In a good way. Very drinkable and enjoyable.

12oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly cloudy, dark rusty orange with a finger of off-white head. Aroma is mostly tropical and citrus fruits. Taste is medium bitter. Loads of tropical and citrus fruits with a hint of spicy rye. Full bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long, peppery finish. Wow, winner in my book.

Where and how: GG Can 355 ml.
Aroma hop forward front, aromatic, secondary peppery rye with sweet malty behind. Cohesive and pleasant.
Appearance :
Top: Medium plus white top, fine. Sparse rings.
Base: hazy amber.
Palate : full bodied with delicate yet fairly high carbonation.
Taste: Malty front, soft with some heat behind. Leafy raw greens at end
Other notes a bit hefty yet satisfying choice for one to have after long day.
