COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

Our friends at Oskar Blues pioneered great beer in a can and, as mutual members of the canned craft club, this partnership was a perfect fit. CANfusion is a coming together—a fusion, if you will—of flavors from across the spectrum of brewing: spicy rye, tangy wheat and a bright citrusy hop aroma.

Oskar Blues is the granddaddy of canned craft beer. Like us, they have a fun-loving passion for the outdoors and bikes. It was a natural fit for them to adopt cans as a portable, durable way to tote their favorite beer on the trail, and in the process they paved the way for all other craft brewers to follow.

Poured into shaker glass a nice amber with thick fast dissipating off white head. Good lacing. Aroma was toasted malts, caramel, rye. Lighter body with good CO2. Taste was a nutty rye, the malt coming through with a lite orange citrus in the background. Slightly sweet at the sip, bitters on the finish getting bitter as it slides down.

Can. Amber orange. Strong malty, sort of huskey, grainy, rye. Red caramels, herbs. Quite full bodied, bit sweet malty, but with a bitter dry clean finish. Old leaves, huskey malty. clean. flavourful. But sort of .. harsh. Strange one. Might be old.. the transport.. something, but feels really mediocre, or even sub that. A herb harsh- hoppy bock.

35,5 cl bottle @ lusikka, canned 03.05.14
Aroma has strong caramel tones, some toffee and fruity hops. Flavour has somewhat aggressive hops with grapefruit, some caramel, sweet malty tones and hints of toffee. Finishes with mint and menthol. Sweet and very American. No signs of bock here, perhaps some maltyness typical to the style though.

Mahogany pour with a light beige head. Aroma is spicy rye, fruity hops. Taste is a great balance of the spicy rye and the fruity hops. 7% alc. hidden behind this tasty treat. Little lacing- all taste.

Spicy (peppery) aroma of rye and light citrusy hops. Golden color, hazy, with a copper tone to it and a frothy ivory-colored head that slowly collapses. Flavor is slightly sweet at first and then it transitions to a drier, citrusy bitterness in the finish; the bitterness level isn’t very high, but it seems to be the appropriate level to accompany the rye and wheat malt flavors and moderate sweetness; the rye is nicely showcased in this beer with just a kiss of citrusy hops. The alcohol is surprisingly well tucked away somewhere in the background. Medium-bodied, good texture that seems heavy and slightly slick at the same time. Overall, this beer is quite balanced and very drinkable. It definitely presents the rye well is very tasty and smooth for a light bock. It’s well-crafted and I’d like more, but having said that, I don’t know how I’d feel about this beer after a 6-pack of it. I’m on the fence, but leaning towards really liking it...

Poured amber in color with a thick white head. Spicy rye aroma with flavors of rye, caramel, and soggy bread. Love a good beer in a can.
