COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

As longtime friends, Russian River brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo and our own Brian Grossman are no strangers to brewing experiments. While looking for inspiration for this collaboration, Vinnie and Brian decided to honor the creations of legendary Belgian brewer Yvan De Baets with their own hop-forward American-Belgian mash-up.

From complex Belgian-inspired styles to American wild ales and hoppy Double IPAís, Russian River always pushes boundaries while respecting technique and quality. Co-owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo are longtime friends of Sierra Nevada and they always have a six-pack of Pale Ale in their fridge at home.

Salmoniform (823) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 19, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Straw hue with white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is straw, lemon, peppercorn. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry with a spicy finish. Overall this brew is so-so.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4971) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 18, 2014
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a huge creamy yellow-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy, citric and had a Sweettart candy presence. The flavor was bitter, dryish and chalky with notes of yeast and tart citrus. Long finish of chalk and citrus. Medium body. Meh.

Sierra Nevada / Russian River Beer Camp Yvan the Great is a one off you have to try. Blonde pour with a fluffy white head giving off a wonderful tropical aroma. Taste is a nice balance of malt and aromatic hops that linger on the palate. Yvan the Great is a just that -- get it while you can.

Bottle poured a nice golden yellow with a light white head. I got a lot of spicy notes in the nose, such as coriander and nice belgium phenols. Sweet spicy and crisp. Awesome beer.

really nice and fairly light Belgian blonde. Enough body and flavor to make it interesting, but easy enough to toss back as well. Light pineapple, apple, and fruit esters all over, hints of straw, tiny hop kick at the end. Good stuff!

12oz. bottle. Fruity, lightly sweet aroma, faintly herbal and honeyish with notes of lemongrass, melon, yeast spice, floral perfume, some very faint phenols and bubblegum esters present in the background as well. Lightly hazy light golden yellow in color, the head subsiding completely. Flavor profile is lightly citric, fruity, very gently tart and sweet, with suggestions of lemon, herbal tones, gently sweet pale malts, and some faintly peppery spice underneath. Little to no effervescence on the palate, strangely, resulting in a watery effect, body is medium. Some warmth present late. Interesting stuff, though not exactly what I expected, I guess.

(Bottle) This has a very nice Belgian yeast flavor but itís also astringent and bitter. Very thin beer. A below average Belgian blonde.
