COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

As longtime friends, Russian River brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo and our own Brian Grossman are no strangers to brewing experiments. While looking for inspiration for this collaboration, Vinnie and Brian decided to honor the creations of legendary Belgian brewer Yvan De Baets with their own hop-forward American-Belgian mash-up.

From complex Belgian-inspired styles to American wild ales and hoppy Double IPA’s, Russian River always pushes boundaries while respecting technique and quality. Co-owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo are longtime friends of Sierra Nevada and they always have a six-pack of Pale Ale in their fridge at home.

Blonde belgium ale cant get much better then this. Easy to drink, spicy big flavors but very pallatable and sessionable.

Pour is golden amber/yellow with a medium white head. Aroma and flavor of lemon zest, coriander, belgian yeast, and light cereal grain. Finish shows a bit more of an IPA style with the fruit and bitterness coming through.

12 oz bottle -- bottled on date 2 June 2014 -- served in a Belgian snifter. Pours light amber in color; clear with a wmall weak head that soon dies down and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma: mainly Belgian yeast and light bready malts with a touch of spicyl/fruity hops. Flavor: Yeasty and spicy with a subtle but solid malt base. There’s a touch of funk and mild bitterness in the lingering aftertaste. Feel: near medium body and crisp, lively medium-high carbonation. Dry finish. O: a good version of a style that is not among my favorites.

Pours a very clean deep yellow color with a very high amount of carbonation and a low white, filmy head. Aroma has a sharp tartness to it with highlights of lemon zest and some light funkiness to go along with the grain. Flavor starts off with some lemon zest, smoothly transitioning to a grassy, grainy presence with some light barnyard notes at the end to meld with some herbal/spicy hops finish. Body is modest with a good deal of carbonation. Light tartness on the palate. Overall a good brew.

Bottle : pale yellow with medium - sized white head. Aroma is malty yeasty with a good dose of cereal. Flavor is cereal, white pepper, yeast, dry grass, and a bit of grapefruit rind. The flavors don’t quite match the aroma. Decent taste but lacking depth. Wish I could like it more.

Bottle PKGD 06/02/14. Nose is Belgian blonde all the way, yeast especially, with golden sunshiny pils malt, dusty noble hops topped by much more fervent American cousins. Pours clear golden with a sudsy white head. Taste is fruity, lemon rind especially, with citrus coming from oily hop juice; low bitterness, semi-sweet malt on top, fresh and light grassy and herbal. Fullish body, a little dust, perhaps minimal chalk in the bg, slightly tart. White grape/muscat. Like it, doesn’t blow the socks off but reminds of several beers I admire.

Bottle. This is great. Clear lighter golden pour with a smaller white head. Aroma of yeast and clove. Getting just a hint of Brett-like sourness - very cool. White grape and pepper. Plus some nice herbal / grassy hops. Really excellent beer!

12 oz. bottle from Wilbur’s. Appearance: finger white head, straw yellow, cleat, light lacing, Aroma: coriander, lemon, leaves, light rose floralness. Palate: light body, average carbonation, dry finish, light bitter finish, oily texture. Taste: light sweet immediately into coriander and spice, fades slowly as bitterness appears and rounds out the finish, lingering for a moment, but subdued. Overall, very good balance, love the yeast in this beer. My favorite of the 12-pack so far.

Bottle... Poured clear, golden yellow with a moderate, white head. Esters and spices mix hop earthiness on the nose. Similar notes came through in the flavor with hints of cloves and other herbal, perfumey spices. Grassy, earthy, citrus-zest with some hop bitterness and drying yeast spices and esters towards the finish.

Tallahassee, Fl. Market Square Liquor - 12 oz bottle - part of the 2014 Beer Camp Across America 12-pak. Pours a sparkling medium golden with nary a head. Aroma has some white grape notes, a hint of anise seed, pleasant. Flavor has a nice wholesome quality to it with some saffron-like spiciness, a hint of white grape fruitiness, some bubble gum sweetness, some doughy yeasty notes. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it. Pretty solid.
