2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

As longtime friends, Russian River brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo and our own Brian Grossman are no strangers to brewing experiments. While looking for inspiration for this collaboration, Vinnie and Brian decided to honor the creations of legendary Belgian brewer Yvan De Baets with their own hop-forward American-Belgian mash-up.

From complex Belgian-inspired styles to American wild ales and hoppy Double IPAís, Russian River always pushes boundaries while respecting technique and quality. Co-owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo are longtime friends of Sierra Nevada and they always have a six-pack of Pale Ale in their fridge at home.

really nice and fairly light Belgian blonde. Enough body and flavor to make it interesting, but easy enough to toss back as well. Light pineapple, apple, and fruit esters all over, hints of straw, tiny hop kick at the end. Good stuff!

12oz. bottle. Fruity, lightly sweet aroma, faintly herbal and honeyish with notes of lemongrass, melon, yeast spice, floral perfume, some very faint phenols and bubblegum esters present in the background as well. Lightly hazy light golden yellow in color, the head subsiding completely. Flavor profile is lightly citric, fruity, very gently tart and sweet, with suggestions of lemon, herbal tones, gently sweet pale malts, and some faintly peppery spice underneath. Little to no effervescence on the palate, strangely, resulting in a watery effect, body is medium. Some warmth present late. Interesting stuff, though not exactly what I expected, I guess.

From a bottle. Pours hazy blond with a bubbly frothy white head. Tastes like sweet dry herbs, cracker malt, light lemon, light golden raisin, straw. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like lemon, wheat, creamy, doughy malt and light candy.

This beer was pretty tasty. I like a good Belgian style light beer. A really good collaboration between two great breweries.

Draft at Global Edw. handsome golden with a nice white head. An aroma that is classic Belgian with that yeast and candi sugar. The flavor brings that but also a goos bit of fruit. Trical fruit stands out. Mild bitterness. Hops are in front here and are nice. An American take on a classic Belgian.

I must remind myself that this came out mid-July and itís late Sept. But that being said, this beer Is crisp & featured a lemon peel character. Yet I found it to be a bit light like canola oil I. Michelob. Empty at its core.
