COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
2014 Beer Camp Across America Release.

As longtime friends, Russian River brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo and our own Brian Grossman are no strangers to brewing experiments. While looking for inspiration for this collaboration, Vinnie and Brian decided to honor the creations of legendary Belgian brewer Yvan De Baets with their own hop-forward American-Belgian mash-up.

From complex Belgian-inspired styles to American wild ales and hoppy Double IPAís, Russian River always pushes boundaries while respecting technique and quality. Co-owners Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo are longtime friends of Sierra Nevada and they always have a six-pack of Pale Ale in their fridge at home.

Bottle from the 12 pack Beer Camp from Total Wine in Boca Raton. Snifter in my dining room. Pours a light gold with a very slight haze. Small white fluffy head. Aroma is cereal, Belgian yeasts, slight spice, banana, cloves. Teh taste is similar with a slight dry funkiness and hoppiness that is not as characteristic of a Belgian blonde. Nice carbonation and refreshing body. FInish is dry spices and hoppy. Very nice job.

Where and how: GG Virginia Beach, bottle 335 ml.
Aroma straw hay, clean alcohol with Belgian yeast. A bit too straight forward.
Appearance :
Top: large, very fine bright snowy white top. Good lace shown.
Base: golden bright white bottom.
Palate : medium bodied, milder carbonation, touch of soft chewy texture.
Taste: well done, yes...but also very pedestrian. Clean, balanced, and well thought. Yet it canít escape feel of ordinary.

Poured a cloudy golden color with aromas of bread, light banana, spicy yeast, and some light fruit. Flavors were light tropical fruit, and banana, and some light spicy yeast, solid overall.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a solid 2 fingers of off white head. Aroma is banana, spicy Belgian yeast and a whole mess of funk. Taste is medium bitter and lightly tart - citrus hops with quite a Bit of funk. Very good, Iím digging this one.

Very lemon zest, clementine peel aroma with a touch of peppercorn and sweet banana. Appears cloudy gold with bubbles floating in solution. Sweet and acidic orange juice are at the front and fade away as grapefruit and oregano hoppyness balances the sweetness. Palate is ordinary. Overall, very nice.

Bottle. Dark gold. Super fuzzy. Nice yeasty nose, slightly sweet. Nice mild hop and floral fruitiness. Mild candi sugar. Very easy drinking.

Another winner from the beer camp case. The american citrusy hops with the not-so-subtle belgian notes really work. Pours a hazy gold with a nice white head. Nose is all belgian- unmistakeable. Really yeasty with prominent biscuit/ hay/ bread. Drinks really crisp with nice bitter notes from the hops. Earthy and almost funky at the end. Super balance. So drinkable. Loved it.

Tap @ Falling Rock, Denver. Medium amber, white head. Malty aroma, caramel, apricot, hops. Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, spicy taste, caramel, hops, yeast. Slightly harsh? (2014-04-08)

[Tap] Golden in color with a small white head. Average levels of carbonation. Aromas of dusty grains, bitter citrus rinds and fruity yeasty esters. Flavors of dough, lemongrass, herbal hops, candied apricots, white bread and wet hay. Finishes dry and hoppy. It worked, but it took a little bit for me to warm up to this beer. Tasting notes from 7/2014.

A well crafted beer, a farmhouse with hops that lend it a bitterness. Personally, I would have liked more of the latter and maybe should have had fresh on tap.
