COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Charlie Papazian and Fred Eckhart are the men who launched a thousand breweries. Their writing on the art of homebrewing and steadfast promotion of beer culture helped propel the craft brewing movement. Charlie and Fred agreed to work with us on this special ale in honor of our 30th anniversary. This Imperial Helles Bock is a testament to the ever-evolving brewer’s art. Bold yet balanced with distinct toasted malt character, moderate sweetness and clean and floral hops.

Lightly hazy amber beer, short lived off white head. Light palate, starts crisp but rapidly turns soft. Sweetish malts with a little caramel, vaguely tripel like but dark. Well integrated citrus hop. Turns softer with sweet caraway malt. Nicely joined up and very drinkable.

A: The pour is a really nice copper color with a finger’s worth of dense white foam. S: The nose is sweet and bready, but with a very nice fruit (sweet apple) and earthy hop contribution. Good nose all around. T: Plenty of bread and toasted malt up front with a bit of vanilla, caramel, and maybe some miscellaneous fruits as well. The hops are subtle, but provide a bit of a bitterness and some light earth and spice notes. M: The body is medium with a creamy carbonation and mouthfeel. D: I think I might like this iteration of SN30 a little bit better than the stout, and maibocks aren’t really even my favorite style. A really nice and flavorful beer.
