COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First of series. Fritz Maytag, owner of San Franciscoís Anchor Brewing Company, is regarded as the founding father of the craft brewing movement. Frtiz agreed to guest brew this very special ale with us in honor of our 30th anniversary. As a nod to the dark ales and stouts that seduced both Fritz and Ken in the early years, we bring you this pioneering stout, a rich and roasted ale, perfect for aging, and worthy of your finest snifter. Enjoy!

Nice hint of cocoa, and toasted brittle. T: dry and almost bitter with soily overtones and some dry cocoa. M: heavy with moderate carb and long finish. O: great stuff. Wish I had more. 750ml bottle: This one pours an inky, opaque dark brown color. There was quite a large dark tan head on it. Some lacing. The aroma is very nice. Chocolate, but not sweet. Some earthy and piney hops. Getting a hint of raisins also. The taste is quite good. Nice balance of a touch of sweetness and a touch of bitterness. Notes of chocolate, raisin, roasted malts, pine and earthy hops. A lot going on in this one. An excellent beer!
