Rciesla (2800), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jun 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Floral hoppiness, light grass, pine and grapefruit. Caramel malt presence in excess but still nice overall. altehkiller (71), , California, USA Jun 4, 2009 lots of hop bitterness that is quite tasty. fairly amber in color with an average amount of head. pretty grassy and piney in taste Frovigalning (156), , Sweden May 29, 2009 It poured a hazy golden liquid with a small foam that left some lacing. The aroma had allot of grassy hops. The flavor was dry, with grassy hops and a medium-high bitterness. Lean and easy to drink without getting boring. bembelembe (138), Zagreb, Croatia May 23, 2009 Dominant bitter hop taste. Mouthful fruity flavor of grapefruit and orange with honey and pine notes. Dryish bitter aftertaste. Beautiful orange color. Grapefruit smell. WVHouseofBeer (246), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA May 22, 2009 This is a really good beer. Strong smells and tastes of floral hops and citrus. Very clean and refreshing; this is one of my favorites from Sierra Nevada. KyotoLefty (873), Kyoto, Japan May 17, 2009 2007 Version. Medium to dark copper color with a tall, fine head. Clear. Strong cascade hop aroma, lots of citrus and other fruits, with a faint background of rich barley.
Flavor is also amazingly hoppy. Very fruity and lots of citrus, plus very bitter as well. There is a slight malty warmth in the background with a hint of sweetness, but it is really only there to support the hops. A touch of caramel, but mostly grapefruit. The finish has a touch of malt warmth as well, but is mainly dry and bitter, and the hops linger a long, long time. An interesting beer to be sure, but a little out of balance to me. It certainly is well made, though I would prefer a little more malt.
petematte46 (121), Dallas, Texas, USA May 8, 2009 Clear amber color, mild half inch head. Sharp citrus and smooth woody notes in the nose. Lemon zest citric notes up front, balances more towards the back of the palate. tokyogoat (258), San Diego, California, USA May 7, 2009 Pours a beautiful light golden orange. Perfect finger’s head.
Smells of hops and pine.
Taste is strong on hops and pine in the forefront, but finishes with a fantastic oak.
The more I drink the more that oak flavor keeps peering through. Carbonation and body are perfect, sticks to your tongue, but washes clean.
