Tommyp007 (27), Kingsport, Tennessee, USA Aug 17, 2009 Pretty solid IPA. Orange color with good head retention. Taste is hoppy, but not very bitter. I actually prefer a little more bittterness with an IPA, so the overall rating is lowered to reflect that. Overall, a good beer I’ll probably buy again. zizzybalubba (338), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Aug 17, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Pours pale orange with a thick and fizzy white head. Aroma of pine, fresh cut grass, and peach. Taste is rather floral and grassy with not much else offered. Palate is thin. It’s alright but I wouldn’t recommend this very high. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 15, 2009 [2313-20090719] 12floz bottle. Lovely citrus orange hops aroma has mild pine notes. Murky, orange light brown body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and lots of small bubbles and floaties. Bitter orange hops flavour hints at young evergreen. Bitter medium-full body. Wow, what a great brew, very drinkable.
(From Premier Gourmet, Buffalo, NY; Vintage 2008; w/ DuctTape, jerc) NeoHippie2 (173), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Aug 13, 2009 Pretty solid IPA. I liked that while this brew maintains its hopiness it isn’t overly bitter. Which, while i like a good IPA, I’ve never been a big a fan of bracingly bitter beers. Nice floral presence to it as well. I really enjoyed it and I’ll be buying this one again. Narnad (682), Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA Aug 13, 2009 2009 version. Pours a deep cooper color with an off white, very creamy head. Aroma has a modest amount of caramel malt with a slight biscuit note but the hops rule it. Lots of citrus hops presence backed by a lesser but still strong pine hops aroma. When both combine the it makes a sweet and only slightly bitter presence in the aroma. Flavors mirror the aroma. It starts off with a very sweet melding of caramel and citrus (lemon) with a light pine bite toward the end. Brew is sorta one dimensional but that one dimension is done very well. Solid feel with a creamy smoothness to it and lots of lacing on the glass. Overall a typical SN, lots of citrus hops and caramel that really work well together. JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Aug 11, 2009 On tap at Barley’s Smokehouse. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head. Floral and citrusy Cascade hop aroma with some malt for balance. Bready malt flavor with a bit of fruit and some citrusy hops. Pretty good, but almost too balanced. I prefer the more bitter ones like Southern Hemisphere. blindeyedbetty (148), Arlington, Virginia, USA Aug 10, 2009 12 oz. bottle pours a clear amber orange with a healthy frothy off white head which leaves a generous lacing as it melts. Aroma is creamy wet earth with pine. Caramel and malt front palate with strong hit of hops and finish of pine and citrus. I expected this to be similar to the SNPA, but was delightfully surprised that while still being earthy, it was more complex and much lighter than I thought it would be. Delicious with roasted chicken and rosemary potatoes. Hopper (277), San Antonio, Texas, USA Aug 10, 2009 An unclear golden orange beer with little head. A nice hop aroma of pine & citrus. Taste was very crispy hops which comes first then backed up by the malt. A very nice & refreshing IPA.
