Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

From the bottle, poured nice and clear deep amber orange with moderate off-white, orange hued head, settling after about a minute. Nice lacing. I detect aromas of caramel and citrusy hops. The flavor is definite hoppy bitterness, but still allows sweetness and breadiness to come through. The finish is gentle. It’s a great, smooth IPA.

Bottle. Musky pine hops with citrus and caramel notes. Perfectly clear gold/amber with a nice white head. Very well balanced hop-led flavor profile with a nice toasty/bready note and good sweetness. Bitterness is in check but strong. Dry palate, nice and full-bodied. A good subdued IPA.

Pours a beige, lacing head and a light amber body. Smells of resin and floral hops. Flavor is the same. Nice bitter finish.

2009-07-19. orange amber body with a modest off-white head. Pleasantly hoppy aroma, light resiny touches. (7+) Resiny hops in the flavour, moderate bitterness throughout, underlying malt is restrained. Average plus palate. Quaffable, pleasant. Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo

Overall Impression: Rating from August of last year, that has limited notes. Have it down as a pine/citrus brew, that I described as being between a Pale Ale and an IPA. 7/4/7/3/14

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 9/3/09

Aroma: Nose was better the I remembered...juicy citrus hops
Appearance: Slightly hazy red-orange color
Flavor: Nice hop character and some malt backing
Palate: Solid mouthfeel, drinks nicely, smooth, medium body
Overall Impression: Figured I’d update the rating on a 2009 bottle. Rating actually went up slightly, the nose was better then I remembered, and it is a nice beer. 8/4/7/3/15

Bottle conditioned, 350ml from Beers of Europe, Norfolk. Bright clear amber with chunky white head. There is a good, dry, mid roasted malt as a background to a big dry, grassy, woody hop flavour. The caramel malt giving depth, while the hop gives the interest. A well crafted beer, very nice.

Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Floral hoppiness, light grass, pine and grapefruit. Caramel malt presence in excess but still nice overall.
