Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale

Had a musty, almost body odor aroma. This turned me off to it right away, and the extreme hoppyness didn’t aide in this either.

Bottle. Pours a light amber, copper color with a decent white head. Aroma is of hops and grassy pine notes. Pretty smooth on the palate. Not a bad IPA.

Bottle. 2008 version Aroma: Fresh apricot/lemon, fruity inviting. Clear light amber beer with a thick white head. Well balanced, citrus, hop, carbonation and sweetnes. Easy to drink. Slight bitterness in the finish, which is not long lasting. Recommended.

bottle. pours amber with thick white head. Aroma of earthly hops with light bitterness and fruits. Taste, hoppy, light malts, grapefruit with the typical SN signature palate. Overall mouthfeel keeps a good bitter hops finish with a mix of caramel.

(bottle) [2008 Anniversary Ale] Golden orange body with a big, stiff off-white head. Aroma of green grass, hops, hay, earth, and spice. Strong hop bitterness, and a slight honey sweetness. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.

BOTTLE: gold/orange pour, citrus and pine hops on the nose. Taste is spice, citrus, yeast, caramel malt, and a strong hop bite. Pretty good IPA.

12 fl. oz. bottle, shared by Lubiere (merci!), served cold in a goblet. JA11/09.

App.: Hazy amber with a smallish white froth. Aroma: Spicy, peppery, piney C-hops, bitter orange marmalade, sweet caramalts, a slight bit of funk, light apricot. Palate: Medium body and fairly soft carbonation. Flav.: Spciy, peppery, green pine hops, some clove and nutmeg, less citrus, more apricot/fruit; dry (surprisingly) with good bitterness and a hint of tang.

Nice stuff – a great showcase for Cascade!

Solid IPA but nothing mind-blowing. Copper color with a white head. Aroma of Cascade hops really stands out. Good caramel malt flavor with C-hops, but a little too watery on the finish. Really drinkable though.
