Smells of red apple, cinnamon, and hops, with notes of caramel, pine, flour, and mildly bitter hops in the taste. Enjoyable, but a bit too tentative in its flavor choices. shalloWMeans (160), Independence, Kentucky, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2008 This beer begins with an amazingly bright, royal honey gold color- luminescent and glowing. The head is frothy, marshmallowy, and very well retained, leaving heavy white lacing after each sip. Of course, no Sierra Nevada ale would be complete without a great big, juicy Cascade hop profile, and this one is certainly no exception. The aroma is citrussy and floral, full of grapefruit, lemongrass, orange peel, sticky honey, and pepper. There is a ridiculously well-balanced doughly malt character that rounds this brew out quite well. The taste is big, bright, crisp, and full of fresh, wet hops that taste like they were harvested only hours before being added to the kettle. This beer is really impressive, and for a 20th Anniversary brew from one of America’s pioneer breweries (the brewery that basically introduced the WORLD to cascade hops), I wouldn’t expect any less. The body is medium to full, well carbonated, and very dry and satisfying at the finish; again balancing itself out with a generous amount of rich, toasty malt. Excellent! kcmo19 (10), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2008 Went to the store and was disappointed that they were sold out of the SN Pale Ale. So I picked up the Anniversary Ale and hoped for the best.
Wow. Very nice brew. So, the Aroma is fresh pine and dried fruit. Pours a golden amber with a foamy off white head that laces the glass. Flavor is big hops to open, then you pick up the nice malt as it makes its way down the hatch. Finish is back to a dry hopped kick. Excellent. Well done fellas. ericandersnavy (1051), crossroads, Texas, USA
