MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 29, 2008 12oz - Pungent pine and citrus hops and a doughy caramel malt. Pours cloudy orange-brown with a small head Flavor is very well balanced with the hops up front followed by the smooth creamy caramel malt. Palate is tart then creamy and smooth. Very Nice. Skeegle (476), Maryland, USA Sep 29, 2008 Excellent IPA. Very nice balance to it with the sweet malts and the hoppy hops. The bitterness is all citrus to me, well maybe 3/4-1/4 split citrus-pine, which is nice. It really tastes like SNPA if they partially froze it and took 20% of the water out. It’s pretty much just SNPA in SNiPA form, so if you like SNPA, you’ll love this. It fits nicely between Celebration and SNPA. chrissy (122), Connecticut, USA Sep 29, 2008 Bottle: Pours a dark orange color with off white head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Strong hop bitterness in flavor. punkrkr27 (608), Berkley, Michigan, USA Sep 28, 2008 Amber pour with a big, rocky, white head. Grapefruit aroma with notes of honeysuckle, juniper, bread and caramel. Dry, floral taste with pine and slight alcohol. Aqueous medium body with soft carbonation. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Sep 28, 2008 2008 edition emerges from the bottle a hazy golden orange body with a sturdy almond head that deposits lavish patchy lacing. Aroma of Cascades hops, citrusy grapefruit and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste has an assertive hop bitterness, as the Cascades really shine. Just a hint of malt sweetness that tries unsuccessfully to balance the dominant hops. Very worthy! rugbydude05 (280), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 Updated: Jan 26, 200912 oz bottle. Pours an opaque amber color, very attractive beer. Aroma at first was lacking, almost a hoppy doughy smell that got a little more citrusy as the drink wore on. Taste was overwhelmingly bitter and dominated the sweetness or maltiness. Palate was very rough with a harsh aftertaste- significantly more than other IPAs. Not a bad novelty beer. drjay44 (760), Salida, Colorado, USA Sep 28, 2008 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pour a nice creamy well retained head, nice copper color, good lacing...nose of pine and citrus, slightly milder than anticipated....flavors of hops, some malts, with the typical hop bitter finish....mouth feel a little light. Perhps a bit lighter than it should be overall, but a nice drinking thing none the less. jimig (23), , Texas, USA Sep 27, 2008 Pour a nice medium head that smells of citrus that the Cascade hop is known for. The taste is lighter than the Pale Ale. Easy finish.
