Pours a clear dark amber in color. A huge pillowy, soapy white head forms on the pour. Smell is hoppy, very floral and very clean. Taste is more of the hops, but there is a very fruity flavor here as well. Almost getting a hint of raspberry or something just as juicy and dark. Weird. A little bittering in the mouthfeel, but very light and thin. Easy drinking, but I’m afraid I would tire of it before I got through more than two. TheRealBastard (141), The-No, California, USA Sep 25, 2008 Solid brew. Great beach beer for the end of summer. Slightly hoppy and sweet, but blend together well. Every year this comes out I need to buy it. Grows on you tremendously, a bit overpriced as well. Overall decent beer. DubC5000 (195), San Diego, California, USA Sep 24, 2008 A rather sweet IPA, but still strongly bitter. More flavorful than many of the offerings out there. Tastes mainly of hops, along with some sweet malts and honey. Aroma is woody and dry. renffisch (495), london, Greater London, England Sep 24, 2008 bottle at ealing bf 08. lovely smooth very drinkable hoppy beauty. so far one of my fav sierra nevada beers! golden colour, fruity with a bit of spruce and lovely well defined cascade. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pours a golden color with a slight creamy white head. Piney aroma with half malt and half hop bite mid swallow. Malty finish with a lot of similarity to Sierra Pale. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Sep 23, 2008 amber in color with a medium large off white head. Citrus and pine in the aroma- clean cascade and light malt. Taste is moderately hoppy with grapefruit and light pine, with a light to medium body and a semi-assertive hop bittering finish. This was clean, and decent- easy drinking accessible IPA which seemed like their pale ale, just with alittle more malt and hops thrown into the picture. hombrepalo (745), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 23, 2008 2008, Nice brew~ Nice amber pour, decent head, a lighter flavor for an IPA, just great, nothing hitting you over the head, hops are there, but its very easy drinking because of the malt, very clean finish, nice.
Trev (850), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Sep 22, 2008 Pours an amber gold colour with a thick foamy off white head.
Aroma is citrus-herbal hop.
Flavour medium caramel malt with a strong herbal hop character. A little metallic bitterness in the finish.
