DaveB (73), Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA Sep 16, 2008 Too heavy for my taste. I like Sierra Nevada pale ale but the Anniversary Ale is a bit much.
I have 11 left in my fridge in the garage. I’m going to have to pawn the rest off on unsuspecting guests. I have two brothers in law who will drink anything. nramsburg (200), New York, New York, USA Sep 15, 2008 Nice malty flavor. It’s an IPA but it’s got a great balance. Citrus and lots of hops on the palate. Not quite sure how this one looks in the glass -;-; had it in a bottle purchased from a deli on a corner. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Sep 14, 2008 A nice off white head. Nice copperbrown colour. Hints of citrus in the taste. Typical IPA hoppiness. Tasted at Pikkulintu. knights97 (80), Tennessee, USA Sep 13, 2008 moderate in body, typical amber color in body with a nice hint of hops to the aroma, smooth taste to it, goes down well with no biting after taste and has a great citrus taste to it bethmatt0421 (317), Covington, Kentucky, USA Sep 12, 2008 Aroma is more piney than citrus/floral. Flavor is piney, bitter citrus bite. Caramel malts come through a bit. Light bodied. It doesnt speak summer to me, that would be Two Hearted. This beer speaks more of fall. This is a good IPA indeed. Sierra Nevada did well. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA Sep 11, 2008 Another tasty brew from SN. Smooth and dry with a lovely bitter finish. Amber with a thick head. Sampled at an A’s game in Oakland. glennmastrange (809), hobe sound, Florida, USA Sep 11, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of roasted and caramel, moderate herbs and pine for the hops, light note of soap for the yeast, and faint notes of toffee and pepper. Head is small, fizzy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is slightly hazy, yet sparkling orange/tan. Flavor starts moderately acidic and lightly bitter, then finishes moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is on the light side of medium, watery, with a lively carbonation. It finishes lightly drying. A good IPA with a decent aroma, but a slightly out of balance flavor. topherh (892), Kearney, Missouri, USA Sep 10, 2008 12oz pours coppery orange with a modest off white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Flavor is much like their standard pale ale. Nice and easy to drink.
