SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Sep 3, 2008 ’08 edition. Pours a deep amber with a big foamy head that lasts and leaves streaky lacing. Aroma of floral and citrus hops and roasty caramel malt. Smooth and lightly sweet flavor, with a nice hoppy finish. Seriously good session IPA. GonzoIllini (1), Urbana, Illinois, USA does not count Sep 2, 2008 A good relatively easy to find IPA, one of the better Sierra Nevada beers out their, hoppy but not overpowering, a great session beer. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Sep 1, 2008 wow, talk about an amazing beer. one of the best sierra nevada beers, but not as good as the harvest lipscomb216 (78), USA Sep 1, 2008 Nice effort from the masters of the Cascade hop. Detected a bit of Chinook in the nose and a little of the piney resinous flavor that accompanies it. I sometimes think they use to much crystal malt in their beers, but I would never stop drinking them. NJBeerman013 (764), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Sep 1, 2008 2008 Anniversary bottle. Pours a deep copper in color with a well proportioned, pure white head. It has a fruity and floral aroma with notes of apricot, citrus, wildflowers, and spruce. It has a nice hop punch, but is still on the lighter side as far as an IPA goes. It has a warming sweetness provided no doubt from caramel malts. It has a mellow sweet candy kind of finish with just a hint of alcohol. ksurkin (354), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Sep 1, 2008 2008 edition. pours a golden/copper with a thin, white head. aroma is hoppy, floral, with a bit of citrus and roasted malt that is pleasant and not overpowering. flavor is nicely balanced, with good hop bitterness, hints of orange peel, and some pine. good carbonation, and very easy to drink. would make a good session beer. not as complex as the Harvest ale, but still a quality IPA. pepsican (883), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA Sep 1, 2008 amber pour with a thin white head. Floral hop aroma. Flavor is grassy with some floral hop and citrus notes. A bit of tootsie roll and caramel round it out. Bitter soapy finish, good carbonation. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. Nice light hoppy aroma. Sweet taste up front and an amazing hop finish. This probably replaces the pale ale as my top session beer.
