OldRaspy (292), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 30, 2008 Poured from 12oz bottle amber in color with an off-white head. Aroma is piney hops and sweet caramel malt and a sweet orange. Flavor hasa a bit of caramel sweetness then the hops kick in and a nice grapefruit flavor comes through. ZiggyG (131), Gladstone, Oregon, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours somewhere between copper and gold... more on the gold side. Good foamy head that leaves significant lacing covering the brew and clinging all up the sides of the glass. Smell is of resiny pine hops with a slice of lemon. Taste is sharp cascade hops with a nice dry malt to back it up and balance it. This is hopped between a strong APA and a usual IPA. Mouthfeel is average. clong83 (243), San Diego, California, USA Aug 30, 2008 Nice coppery color and aroma of hops. Has a very nice crisp flavor to it and caramel malts are very evident. Also has that nice resiny texture that can only come from boatloads of hops. Well-balanced and very drinkable. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Aug 30, 2008 (Bottle). Citrusy hops aroma. Copper amber color with a nice white head. Flavor is grapefruit and some orange. Mildly dry finish. Really, more of a pale ale than an IPA, but a pleasant drinkable brew. Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Aug 30, 2008 Poured from the bottle a nice orange-brown color with a good sized head. The aroma is all hops with a bit of citrus that comes through - a very nice aroma. It is slightly bitter on taste with the hops pushing through. A very nice IPA. msante79 (782), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours orangish copper with creamy white head. Aroma is floral hops, hops, citrus and a littly caramel malt. Flavor is of resiny hops with pine a citrus. Caramel malt provides a nice balance. Not a very big IPA but a good session ale for hop lovers. timsilvia32 (445), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Aug 29, 2008 Dark gold pour, fairly sturdy white head. Nice floral aroma definetely some citrus. Kind of lighter bodied, some pine and grain with a straight forward hop prescence. Did not get much out of the caramel malt. Not much in the way of complexity. Clean finish, pretty drinkable. I thought this was a pretty weak offering for an ipa. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Aug 29, 2008 20080829 12oz bottle, Sunset Spirits. Medium amber color, lots of floating bits, sticky lacing white head. As advertised, it’s full of cascades in aroma, flavor, and on the palate. Medium bodied, great finishing astringency and bitterness is not over the top. The strength is right on the money for a quaffable IPA that provides a bit of a kick in the pants. At fifteen bucks a twelve pack, I think I’ll grab a few cases to keep me hopped up until Celebration comes out.
