masto (77), Helsinki, Finland Apr 12, 2008 IPA looks. Hops, orange and pine aroma. Badly lacks malt. Very drinkable with unique pine hops but seems one-dimensional. Dry, thin and sticky. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Apr 9, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber with a frothy head. Subtle floral hop, peppery aroma. Medium body. Good taste of yeasty, dry bready malts with a nice hop/alcohol bite to finish. Very easy drinking, fresh from the tap flavor here. 11077 Tranquillity (1165), Espoo, Finland Apr 8, 2008 Bottled. Very lively, thick off-white head. Borwn/red body. The aroma fills the room, with pineapple, apples, perfume and cognac. The taste is disappointing. Although subtle and almost fragile, it’s watery and doesn’t taste much more than hops. The finish contains bitterness - nothing else. It’s not bad, but a bit dull - maybe I’m getting a flu. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 8, 2008 This was a very enjoyable IPA and had a nice hop kick and aroma with a little malt taste. This was a very drinkable and smooth finish to it,copper color and a nice white fluffy head.CHEERS! RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England Apr 3, 2008 Bottle. Amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is mainly hopped and yeasty, and the flavour is very hopped with a long bitter finish. Overall a nice beer with a syrupy texture. wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Mar 27, 2008 Bottle. Dark Amber color, poured with big white disipating head. Hoppy, grapefruit and pine aroma. Pleasantly smooth, gives a crisp, grapefruity flavour with sweet hints of honey and orange peel . Decent hoppy finish.
A shame if this isn’t going to be a regular. illteez (11), Annandale, New Jersey, USA Mar 23, 2008 bottle. Pours slight cloudy copper with medium head that does not last. Aroma very full and pleasant although I cannot pinpoint. Palate very soft and smooth, makes for easy drinking. Taste is typical of sierra Nevada, very unique and flavorful. Balanced at start with a very hoppy finish that lingers. Love the hops in this one cazort (413), Newark, Delaware, USA Mar 23, 2008 (Bottle) An extremely dry IPA. I normally don’t like "extreme" beers like this one, but I have to say, this one is pretty well-executed. In spite of the rich caramel color, you don’t taste much malt--the hops dominate this one. The hops are very strong but and bitter, but without any of the unpleasantness that dominates many American-made IPA’s. Cold and harsh tasting, but one of the better IPA’s I’ve tried yet. *VERY* different from Sierra Nevada’s usual IPA. I don’t think I like this one quite as much because it seems more clear-cut and less subtle.
