dchmela (1411), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 8, 2009 Pours a light golden with a thick white head. Big stinky hop aroma, just classic american hops. Nice smooth malt body, tons of big bitter hops. A hop lovers dream. cstuartj (305), Washington, USA Sep 7, 2009 Pours a wonderful golden amber with large pillowy white head. Nice classic IPA nose, hoppy, citrus and pine. Clean bitter hop attack with a long mellow finish. guerinfbfan (32), Elmwood Park, Illinois, USA Sep 7, 2009 Pours a nice orange with a small white head. Smells of citrus and hops. Taste is very hoppy, but also has bursts of pine and citrus. Went down very well. A nice IPA from one of my favorite brewers. Nik925 (300), California, USA Sep 7, 2009 A wonderful brew that cranks up hops. Oddly balanced as this is a hop bomb and not overly malty. Buttery hints and nice on the palate. Perfectly made like they do in Chico, I was really pleased with this one. obxdude10 (1547), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 6, 2009 Sierra Nevada’s Anniversary IPA is pretty average. It’s actually a bit of a disappointment, given the fact that I’ve loved several of their APA/IPA offerings. This was pretty ordinary. The beer poured a golden amber color with a small white head. There wasn’t a whole lot of lacing either. The nose featured a bit of hops, earth, grass and citrus. The body was a little bitter and spicy, but wasn’t up the usual Sierra Nevada standard. This offering was a little tame compared to others I’ve tasted from these guys. I was a little disappointed. Sammer (23), Plano, Texas, USA Sep 6, 2009 A rather average IPA from the almost always excellent Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Weak nose, hardly a hint of hops. Decent taste, but left me wanting more bitterness and a fuller flavor. Agree that Torpedo is a better choice. naivepegasus (183), USA Sep 5, 2009 Pours a nice amber orange. Aroma is kind of tame, some sweet hops but not that strong. Hmm. I’m a big fan of all things Sierra Nevada IPA, but this is probably the weakest of their entries. very mild taste that ends with an almost out of place back-of-the-throat bitterness, but nothing is very overwhelming about it. The regular IPA is better, and if you want a better special SN IPA, get Torpedo alagnak (301), Littleton, Colorado, USA Sep 5, 2009 Nose is suprisingly subtle citrus hops and caramel. Flavor is piney hops front and back, nice mellow malt backbone through the middle. A little harsh on the finish. Nothing about the beer stands out as terribly special, but a good, drinkable american IPA.
