Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Sep 4, 2009 A really caustic, dry bitterness, this is not very balanced. The color is nice, tho, and the aroma good too. Just wish it was more of a clever taste, not so brash. cblado (146), Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber color, nice pearly head. Aroma is a crisp hops, very light. Flavor is hoppy, bitter. Not a lot of citrus notes, but some pine. Overall a decent IPA. markas101 (541), Fargo, North Dakota, USA Sep 3, 2009 33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA. Slightly hazy amber colour, head is tinged wtih some hazelnut type colour. Impressive hop aroma, warming. Bright first sip, smooth, with a warming mellowness. Full hoppiness is well balanced, with a nice bitter bite on the finish. Very nice. DaSilky1 (1932), San Diego, California, USA Sep 3, 2009 This reminds me of anchor liberty. The slickly citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon end on a high dry note and the aftertaste just as a soothing bitter cascade essence. The nose was cascadey and sharp..there was a touch more malt character here compared to liberty ale, but I dig it...just not as much. vacantskies (79), Spokane, Washington, USA Sep 1, 2009 2009 Anniversary Ale. This beer pours a hazy burnt orange color. The aroma is hoppy and light. The flavor is hoppy with a crisp bitter finish. darrylgh (10), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 1, 2009 On tap as usual, very nice hop aroma, pours a very nice light copper color with a white head. Starts with a nice finger width head, slowly dissipates, leaving very nice lacing the whole way through. Hoppy, bitter yet very well balanced, what else can you ask for!!! I had this last year in bottles and love it more on tap. This is definitely a very fine IPA and very easy drinking. I would grab some before it’s gone, this is a seasonal brew. LarvalChemist (29), Lexington, Kentucky, USA Sep 1, 2009 Poured from a 12oz bottle. The beer poured a translucent orange/amber with a thin white head. Nose is very strongly citrus and hoppy. However, it’s not overpowering, there is a subtlety to the aroma that leaves you desiring more.
Flavor profile is similar, definitely heavy on the citrusy american hops.Fairly bitter but not face meltingly so. Has a very smooth mouthfeel with a clean finish leaving only a hint of bitterness on the back of the palate. Overall a well balanced and flavorful beer. Plamadude30k (122), Tucson, Arizona, USA Sep 1, 2009 A nicely hoppy beer, but not too overstated. A sessionable, understated IPA.
