Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

Clear amber body with a small beige head. The aroma is floral, citrus and light pine with a touch of sweetness. The flavor is fairly dry, moderately bitter with light caramel, grapefruit, tangerine and floral. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation and an almost spritzy texture.

Tasted 9/21/07. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a dull golden hue. Clinging white head. Cascade nose. Notes of grapefruit pine and citrus. Medium bodied but with a full palate! Great initial dose of malts. Subtle caramel bready malts followed smoothly by a quick blast of watery coffee acidity. Total IPA! Smooth transition from mild to bitter to sticky to acidic. Palate pleaser. Tart and sour. Impressive!

Bottle: Pours a dark golden color with lots of bubbles and a large, foamy white head. Thick lacing. Nose of citrus and piney hops, plenty of malty sweetness. Taste is more malty than the aroma lets on, smooth with floral and piney hops in the tail. Dry, lingering finish. Lacks flavor up front. Thanks Jordan!

Bottle. Fresh, fruity aroma with mild hop aspect. Nice. Clear amber with steady carbonation. Big, off-white head with excellent lace. Piney and somewhat doughy mouthfeel. Good balance. Not spectacular but an excellent session brew with no flaws. Less full bodied than the flagship SNPA. Too bad this is a special brew that will be going away. Underrated (macro-bias).

Bottle at Chris_O’s 19th April 2008 tasting. Orangey amber with little head. Hoppy on the nose, but well balanced with soft malts on the tongue. Great mouthfeel and great beer overall.
