Commercial Description:
The 2007 Anniversary Ale features prominent usage of Cascade hops– the signature hop used in Sierra Nevada’s most popular product, Pale Ale. It is an American Style IPA with a big, fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma balanced by the sweetness of two-row pale and caramel malt. It finishes with an additional Cascade dry-hopping creating a big hop aroma Sierra Nevada fans will look forward to.

Appealing citric hop nose. Appetizing. Bready malts behind it. Amber color, thick creamy eggshell head. Lemony hop flavors. Light crackery malts. Fairly significant bitterness.

Over all very nice, this beer has a good balance between the malt and hops. Aroma of cascades and caramel malt. Flavors have signs of malt sweetness, and a wonder hop flavor. Bitterness is not as high as some IPAs but is noticable. While there is not a huge difference between this beer and the SNPA it does fall in between the SNPA and the Celebration ale.

Bottle 355ml , 2008 edition
Appearance: clear amber in appearance, with large bright stiff top. Good lace was created.
Nose: Soft yet full and rich flowery hop aroma. Clean and fresh.7+
Flavor/Palate : Medium full bodied. Starts softly with more bitter follow up. Straight, clean show up. Solid presentation. Quality shown in details. Like that smooth corners, subtle alcohol burn, bold yet in check hops.

Strong hop aroma, seems citrus of the grapefruit persuasion. Clear amber color with a white head that flattened rapidly. Thin to medium bodied. Near creamy carbonation. Caramel malt flavors very arguably balanced by the citrus hop. It’s not the hophead ideal, but it is extremely tastey. It’s going very well with spicy jambalaya. The finish is pretty dry, with a nice, lightly bitter hop component. Really good stuff.

Pours a wonderfully whipped cream-like head. It eventually falls, but leaves lots of lace on the glass. Dark orange-colored. Not overly hoppy aroma, which is funny since the description says it was dry-hopped. Definitely has lots of hops in there. Very fresh flavor. Hops remain on the palate in the aftertaste. Definitely worth buying again.

2008 version, from Rhythm & Booze in Brigg. Faintly hazy red gold, good lasting fluffy white head and good condition. Full citrusy sweet cascade hop in the nose with some orangey maltiness, quite bitter and dry in the mouth with some underlying chalky citrus notes and lingering floral cascade hoppiness, lingering chalky bitter finish but tempered by some background sweet citrus maltiness.

Pours a transparent bright golden bronze with a well-lacing wispy white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity Cascade hops and mild crystal malt. Body starts with a nice, light caramel sweetness and some fresh, citrusy hops with a smooth balance and a crisp, clean finish. A pretty nice IPA.

Clear copper color with a short lived foamy head. Very fresh grapefruit rind, pine and light toast nose. The fresh hops continue into the flavor, with lots of pine resin, grapefruit juice and orange zest. The sticky hops are all on a sweet caramel, light toast malt backbone that seems just a little thin under all the hops. Very nice hop head beer.
